There hasn’t quite been aRobloxRPG game like Arcane Odyssey. It is not only the first game to feature a complex spell-crafting system, but it’s also one of the few games to host terribly difficult bosses. Upon release, it performed very well, and all the features that made it unique, complex, and inspiring were obvious from the get-go. Thankfully, you won’t be grinding your levels for no reason. Difficult bosses do lay ahead.

King Calvus will feature every skill set you really don’t want a boss to have. Lightning-quick attacks that have a huge radius, on top of devastating damage, King Calvus will give you a run for your money. If you don’t expect such a fight from a Roblox game, then you may be quite unprepared for the level of grind that will be required.
How To Prepare For King Calvus
King Calvus is a tricky boss, sure, butArcane Odyssey provides you with the tools you need to take him down. Magic users will have a much easier time here, but melee builds can also succeed, albeit with more skill and patience required. Before you even step into the ring with Calvus, ensure that you are at least level 100. This way, you’re able to seriously tap into your vitality skill, increasing your maximum health points. Increasing this skill does slightly reduce your damage with every point, but havinga large health pool is significantly recommended.
With a high health pool, you’ll be forgiven for any slight mistakes you make. Your damage output won’t matter too much, asany skilled player can take King Calvus down, no matter the damage output. Bring any build you want to the fight, butmagic users with long-ranged and swift attacks, such as Light, Ice, and Wind will have an advantage. This is due to the boss’s very small downtime, meaningyou must strike quickly.

Additionally, and this goes for whatever build you have, blocking and parrying will be your best friend. You may have never had to learn these abilities before, but you’ll have to learn them now. Practice against enemy NPCs to learn the difference between parrying and blocking, and to perfect the timing. King Calvus is such a demanding foe that you can scarcely dodge every attack that he throws at you.Learning to parry and block will save your life on many occasions.

How To Defeat King Calvus
King Calvus is a powerful boss in Arcane Odyssey. With 4,500 health and two phases, this fight will test your fighting capability to the very core. You will need to defeat him as part of the main quest line, ‘The Order’s Reaches’.
Upon stepping into the arena with King Calvus, his might will be shown. For your first battle with the tyrant, try to avoid any urge to fight, and simply observe.Keeping your distance is really the only way to survive for long, as you’ll soon notice his ability to launch many damaging projectiles as well as zoom around the map. And to top it off, he can unleash a powerful blast, with him at the epicenter, damaging all near him.Observing at a distance will allow you more time to see his attacks coming, and will mean that you aren’t on the receiving end of his blasts of energy.

A great time to sneak in a hit is when King Calvus has just executed aground slam, as he will be frozen for a second as the shock waves are triggered. If you are far away, perform a magical attackto punish his vulnerability.
Once you have become familiar with the art of constantly dashing away from the madman, look at opportunities for attack.Any moment when he stops, even for a couple of seconds, can be an opportunity for an attack.Utilize that time to get close and swing at him, or launch a spell. Due to the short window, you may have to block or parry an attack immediately after launching your attack, which is why mastering those actions are so imperative. Parrying and blocking allow you more time to hit him, also letting you avoid damage, rendering his attacks useless.

The Second Phase
Like all good boss fights,King Calvus has a second phase. As if he is going super saiyan, a golden fury will erupt from his person, and his hair will become golden. He will enter this phase when he drops below 2,000 health.
When in phase two,King Calvus won’t gain access to new moves, but he will modify existing moves. This means that you can keep employing the same strategy, but you must now be even more careful and risk-averse. Do not take chances that you may have taken in the first phase, as it could mean the end of your run. Whilst he is charging into his second phase, however, feel free to get a few hits in and then back off.

It will be slow and dreadful, but defeating King Calvus meansyou must evade an onslaught, get a hit in, and evade another onslaught. Rinse and repeat this and before long you’ll have whittled his health down.
The Attacks Of King Calvus
If you really want to know what you’re dealing with, then here are all of King Calvus' moves and what you can do to avoid them. Again, he is a tricky foe, but all can be blocked, parried, or dodged.
Description of Attack
Dash
King Calvus will dash around the arena up to four times. He will not deal damage during this, and you should take this time to try and hit him or get as far away as possible.
Pulsar
When the player is near to King Calvus, he may charge up a large orb and triggerthree explosions, each one doing100 base damage. It would be best to hurry away before the explosions hit.
In the second phase, King Calvus will instead executefive explosions, each one doing75 base damage.

Combo
When you are rather far from King Calvus, he will unleash an attack of many parts. Firstly, he will slam the ground, dealing moderate damage to targets close to him. He will then throw his Triasta at his target, you, for75 base damage. Next, he will leap into the air and launchfive projectile laser blasts, each dealing75 damage. Finally, Calvus will dash toward you for two more ground slams.
During this attack, it is best to simply focus on evading and dodging his myriad attacks. Any attack attempt may cost you dearly.
When the second phase is active, the Triasta throw is replaced by a beam, but it doesn’t do any more damage. During the projectile launch, however, you’ll get bombarded by even more laser spheres andthe final ground slams of the attack will have increased AoE, so you’ll need to go even further to avoid damage.
Beam
At any point, King Calvus can quickly shoot a beam at you, dealing 64 base damage.
Blast
When you are quite far from King Calvus, he may opt for this attack. He willcharge a large laser blastthat will explode upon hitting its target, dealing150 base damage and inflicting AoE.
During the second phase, the beam will be smaller but much faster, and the AoE will increase. The damage will remain the same.
Pillars
King Calvus will raise his hand and two yellow circles will appear above his head, one of which appearing just below the throne room’s ceiling. He will be charging this attack, which once sprung will launch three pillars in the arena, causing500 base damage. If the player attacks Calvus before the attack is fully charged, the attack will commence prematurely and will deal less damage.
Try to attack Calvus as soon as you’re able to following the raising of his hands, and look out for the circles on the ceiling to avoid damage.
During the second phase, the attack will be charged faster, and a blue energy will knock back players at the end of the attack, dealing an additional 50 base damage.
Melee Combo
If King Calvus is close to the player, he may try to perform this attack, which is only significantly damaging if the first attack lands - so stay sharp! He will slam the ground, causingmoderate damage in a moderately-sized AoE shockwave, and will lunge toward you with his Triasta. If he hits you, then you will receive100 base damagebefore blasting you with a magic attack, causing another300 base damage. If he doesn’t hit you with his Triasta, he’ll perform another ground slam.
During the second phase, King Calvus will move faster. Also, before the final ground slam, he will create a golden tornado that issignificantly damaging.
Conjure
At any point, unless this attack is already in action,King Calvus may conjure up five orbs that will follow him. After a while, the orbs will shoot toward the player, causing75 base damage each. You will have minimal warning before they launch toward you.
During the second phase, the orbs will be shaped like swords andthere will be eight of them, but the damage remains the same.
