While her tale would no doubt be one worth telling, all that is left of her journey is the treasure that she had stolen from her father before marrying her love. Given that neither newlywed remains sufficiently alive to spend it, you can take it for yourself to use for your own ends.
Where To Start Treasure Hunt: Dowry
You can find the bodynorth of White Eagle Fortwhere the questThe Volunteertakes place. You will need to ride through amonster-and-bandit-filledswamp to reach the swamp’s northern shore where the woman’s remains rest.
Be mindful ofRoach’s fear. The many enemies between you and the body may be enough tospook Roach, bucking Geralt off in the process.Using blinders or drinkingNekker Warrior Decoctionwill help as well.

Once you find the body in the reeds, usingGeralt’s Witcher Sensesif necessary, take the letter and keyto start the next stage of the quest.
Fending Off A Basilisk
The chest iswest of the body, near a half-destroyed boat. Don’t count your chickens before they’ve hatched, though.A basilisk will swoop in,stopping you from opening the chest.
This basilisk will beover level 30and willgive lower-leveled players a run for their money. If you see askull by the monster’s name, consider returning after growing in power. That indicates that the monster far outclasses you.

If it is any consolation, the basiliskis no different from its kind, using itsflight and poisonas its weapons of choice. You can mitigate the latter by imbibingGolden Oriole, which will renderGeralt immune to poisonfor the duration of the potion.
Once it is slain, you can open the chest, enriching yourself and bringing the quest to a close.
