Ciri’s journey throughThe Witcher 3is a mystery that defines the first portion of the game’s expansive story. She had left her mark across Velen, Novigrad, and Skellige as she fled the Wild Hunt, something that Geralt could easily guess. What is uncertain is why she had ventured to those areas and in what order.

“The Calm Before The Storm” covers the Skellige leg of her journey and gives some insight into her arrival in Velen. The quest itself is a mix of narrative moments for you to define Ciri’s character and brief, intense combat that you may need a guide for.
Arrival In Skellige
This quest starts at the end ofNameless,while Yennefer isusing necromancy to force Skjall into describing Ciri’s visit to Lofoten.The man had been the first to see Ciri’s arrival in Skellige, having helped the mysterious elf bring her to safety.
You willplay as Cirias soon as she wakes up. Like the other flashbacks, you will be able to dictate what she says while she gets her bearings. Skjall catches her up on both her location and the mysterious elf’s whereabouts before his sister, Astrid, invites Ciri to the sauna.
These conversation choiceshave a no effect on the story,given that they occurred in the past.
Follow Astrid to the saunaand enter the room on the left. Walk to thedresser and mirrorto decide Ciri’s state of dress prior to entering the sauna proper. In the sauna, there will be another conversationcommenting on Ciri’s personal lifeand Skjall.
Ciri will get up once the conversation has run its course. Her companions will suggesttaking a dip in the cold waterand having a shot ofFreya’s Firewater,both further into the sauna. Both options willregenerate Ciri’s health.
It isadvisable to take both options.There more health you have, the better, after all.
When you are ready to leave,return to the dresser and mirrorto put Ciri’s equipment back on. She willleave the saunaand join Skjall in preparing to ride out to meet her companion.
Battle In Lofoten
This short moment of respite is interrupted by the Wild Hunt. They had managed totrack Ciri downbefore she could escape and have set aboutrazing Lofoten to the ground.Despite Skjall’s warnings, Ciri rushes out tofight the Wild Hunt.
Make sure touse Ciri’s abilitiesto their fullest extent, especially at higher difficulties. HerBlink attackexcels atdamaging several opponents simultaneously,which will make the battle easier.
You will need todefeat several Wild Hunt warriors and hounds.A cutscene will play after some time, where Ciri will make her escape with Skjall.
Skjall will lead her to Drowned Dead Rock on horseback. Several enemies willspawn in your way.They can be safely ignored, so long as you keep riding forward. A final cutscene will play at the end of the path before the quest ends.
