On occasion, Geralt can be convinced to focus his attention on tracking down humans. InThe Witcher 3quest Rose On A Red Field, Geralt can be contracted to help one of Olgierd von Everec’s people find out who had killed her business partner.

This quest can be difficult. It will have Geralt investigate an abandoned town, dealing with monsters along the way. By the end of it, he will have to face an old foe in numbers. We will guide you with both halves of the quest, from investigating the scene of the crime to killing the people responsible.

How To Start Rose On A Red Field

You start this quest inEvil’s Soft First Touches,shortly after Olgierd gives Geralt his first two tasks. As the witcher leaves the estate, he is stopped by one of Olgierd’s lackeys, Adela. She promises Geralt a reward fortracking down the people who killed her friend.

The investigation begins inthe town of Bowdon,which has new, ghoulish residents. In the usual fashion, slaughter the ghouls before investigating the town.

Searching The Town

Geralt will pick up a scent, leading him toa shackthat was used to create the narcoticfisstech.There arethree items to investigate inside.

These large, alchemical contraptions arevisible from the door.

Warning Letter

A letterwarning the resident of an impending attackis onthe table by the bed.

Footprints

There area set of footprints on the bedleading out of the house, through the window.

Leave the shackandgo to the windowto pick up a set of footprints. They will lead you to Kluivert’s body.

Afterinvestigating the corpse,Geralt will need to finda set of footprints at the fence.These footprints leadback into Bowdonwhere they transition to hoof prints that bring you tothe culprit’s camp.There areat least five Fallen Knightsfor you to kill.

You will findOfieri diagrams inside the housethat will start the treasure hunt,From Ofier’s Distant Shores,which lets you craft a full set of Ofieri armor.

Searcha nearby wagonfor a letter that will bring you to theFallen Knight’s headquartersa short distance away.

Entering The Fallen Knight Hideout

There aretwo Fallen Knightsoutside the mine. A cutscene will play when you approach, where they will attempt to stop Geralt from entering the building. You will havethree optionsto deal with them.

Fight Your Way In

Geralt canprovoke both meninto fighting him, killing them both and allowing him toenter freely.

The key to the mine isa rusty keyon one of their bodies.

If you haveDelusion at level 2,you can convinceboth men to let you through.

Bribe Them

you’re able to pay the men1,000 crownsto let you in. It’s a hefty sum for just two lives.

If you have buyer’s remorse, you cankill them after paying themto get your money back.

You have alarge group of enemies to deal with later on.It may be easiest to simplyfight your way into save time and to warm yourself up.

Geralt will confront the head of the operation in the cave, Ulrich. The man had turned from serving Redania as a knight to selling drugs to stay alive.How you talk to him does not matter.Regardless of whether or not Geralt mocks him, he willrecognize Geralt’s role in the first gamethat led to the downfall of his order, and will try to kill the witcher.

You will have to deal witha large group of Fallen Knightsas well as Ulrich for this battle. You will be fighting ina large, open arenawitha raised platform on one side.

The arena makes itlikely that you would be surrounded by enemies.It will be incredibly difficult to defend yourself should this happen. Try tomove along the perimeter of the arenato stop your enemies from surrounding you.

If you arewell-equipped with bombs,you take advantage of the lack of obstructions tohit multiple enemies with bombs, weakening them and thinning out their numbers. Similarly, theWhirl abilitywill let youattack multiple enemies at onceeven if you are surrounded.

If this fight is hard to manage, you canlure the enemies into the poison gas at the entrance to the room.Once inside, you can eitheruse Golden Oriole to outlast the Fallen Knightsorignite the gasto damage them.

Once Ulrich is dead, you canmeet Adela in Oxenfurtwhere you cantell her everythingor simplydemand payment.Either way, you willreceive 200 crownsand end the quest.
