The Legend of Zelda:Tears of the Kingdomadds a whole new dimension to Hyrule when compared to its predecessor. It has an amazing sense of verticality that informs much of the world’s design and how you interact with the environment. Part of this is in the sky islands and how you can use them to easily reach new areas on the ground.
RELATED:Best Games With Great Skydiving Gameplay
This requires a great deal of skydiving, and naturally, there are pieces of equipment that aid with this. One such piece is theGlide Shirt, which is obtained as a reward for completing a certain challenge up in the clouds.
Updated June 22, 2025, by Hilton Webster:Like every Zelda game, the community fervor around Tears of the Kingdom shows no signs of slowing down, and that means more coverage. As such, we’ve updated this guide with some videos and the complete Glide Suit armor set to help make your skydiving adventures in Hyrule that much easier.

How To Get The Glide Shirt
Like every armour set in the game, the Glide Suit is made up of three pieces, each giving you more control while skydiving. We recommend acquiring the Glide Shirt first, as it is the easiest piece to get without any extra assistance.
Because you can’t unlock the shrines without first beating the diving challenge, it’s helpful to place a Travel Medallion on the islands to allow you to come back later.

How To Reach Courage Island
The beginning of the diving challenge to get the Glide Shirt is situated onCourage Island in the sky above Hyrule Ridge. To reach it, you’ll need to travel toLindor’s Brow Skyview Towerand activate it.
Lindor’s Brow Skyview Tower doesn’t have any tricky activation requirements, it’s just a bit tricky to reach. Its coordinates are as follows:-1909, 1245, 0297.

Once the platform here is activated, you’ll belaunched into the air. You’ll be able toglide to the sky islands from here. Open the map, and you’ll be able to see a group of sky islands clustered together, revealing the nameCourage Islandas you get close. This is your destination.
Activate the Zonai Pedestalhere, and you’ll be able to take on the diving challenge.

How To Complete The Diving Ceremony On Courage Island
There will be aZonai Constructon this island - talk to them, and they will explain the Diving Ceremony to you. By giving themoneZonai Charge, you canattempt the Diving Ceremony- which is simply diving from the top island down to the bottom island whilegoing through every green ring within 35 seconds.
This is avery lenient time limit- just make liberal use of the dive mechanic when you’re directly above a ring to accelerate.

Every attempt at the test costs one Zonai Charge, and you are automatically transported to the top island with each attempt.
The first time you complete the Test of Courageafter handing the Construct a Zonai Charge, you’ll be awarded theGlide Shirt. This is a handy armor piece that improves your midair maneuverability.

You will then be challenged tobreak the time recordfor the test.
After reaching the bottommost island, if you managed todive through all of the green rings, a nearby shrine will unlock. This isTaunhiy Shrineand contains a short archery tutorial inside. It’s worth at least activating the shrine to obtain the fast travel point

How To Get The Glide Tights
Though each piece of the Glide Suit can be acquired without extra help,we would recommend getting theGlide Tightssecondas the diving challenge is amoderate step upcompared to that of the Glide Shirt.
How To Reach Bravery Island
Thediving challenge for the Glide Tights can be found on Bravery Island, directly above Lake Saria in the Lost Woods. The easiest means of reaching it is from theThyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, at coordinates0343, 3133, 0180.
Tofix the Thyphlo Ruins Skyview Tower, just make your way to the top of it anduse Ultrahandto dislodge the Zonai platform stuck in it.

Even gliding from the Skyview Tower, it will take a while to reach Bravery Island, somake sure you have at least a wheel and a half of stamina.
Bravery Island can be identified amongst the other Sky Islands by thelarge tower of spiralling debrisaround it, with a small island with a pool at the bottom of it.

Alternatively, you could land on the large Sky Island before Bravery Island, andposition the catapult towards it to launch yourself towards Bravery Island itself.
Unlike Courage Island, you will land on the lowest section of Bravery Island. There is no issue with this, as talking to the Zonai Construct will bring you to the very top of Bravery Island.

After completing your initial run of the Diving Ceremony, ensure to activate theSimosiwak Shrineto allow you to easily return to the island.
How To Complete The Diving Ceremony On Bravery Island
After landing on the bottom section of Bravery Island, you can talk to the Zonai Construct here who will explain the rules of the Diving Ceremony. Same as before, you must dive from the top of Bravery Island to the bottom, passing through every green ring as you go.
Keep in mind that you must formallyactivate the Diving Ceremony with the Zonai Construct to win the Glide Tights. Each attempt costsa single Zonai Charge, bringing you to the top of the island.
The time limit is fairly generous -35 seconds- so take your time to avoid making mistakes. If you’ve already obtained a Glide Suit piece, it’s best to equip it here. If you pass through every green ring within the time limit, the Zonai Construct will record your time and give you theGlide Tightsas a reward.
How To Get The Glide Mask
TheGlide Maskis the piece we would recommend you acquire last, though is most likely also the piece you would naturally find last as well. Its Diving Ceremony is also the most challenging, sobe prepared for multiple attempts.
How To Reach Valor Island
Valor Island is where you will find the final Diving Ceremony needed to complete the Glide Suit, and it can belocated directly above Wintre Island, and to the north-east of the Spring of Wisdom on Mount Lanayru.
That’s convenient as theMount Lanayru Skyview Tower, at coordinates3846, -1307, 0539, is the fastest means of reaching Valor Island.
There is no particular challenge to activating the Mount Lanayru Skyview Tower other than simply reaching it. However, thisrequires at least Level 2 Cold Resistance. The same will be required so you don’t take damage on your way to Valor Island.
Like Bravery Island, you will be aiming for thebottom section of Valor Island. However, you don’t need to rely on gliding quite so much asyou will encounter another Sky Island along the way with a pre-constructed flying device. Use this to reach the bottom of Valor Island more quickly.
As before, there will be aZonai Construct that, when spoken to, will allow you to attempt the Diving Ceremonyof Valor Island for the Glide Mask.
ensure to activateSihajog Shrineafter completing the diving challenge. This will give you a quick fast travel point back to Valor Island.
How To Complete The Diving Challenge On Valor Island
As with the two previous pieces of the Glide Suit, talking to the Zonai Construct here will have them explain the rules of the Diving Ceremony.Pass through all the green rings and reach the bottom within the 35-second time limit.
The time limit should still be plenty, but because of the height of Valor Island and the density of the floating ruins during the descent,it’s very easy for clouds to obscure your visionor even hit the ruins themselves while diving.
The key is to just take your time anddon’t be afraid to whip out your paraglider for quick course correction. Due to the increased difficulty, we would suggestequipping any other pieces of the Glide Suityou’ve already acquired.
With all rings passed through within the time limit, the Zonai Construct will reward you with theGlide Mask, and make a record of your completion time.
How To Break The Diving Island Records
After beating the initial Diving Ceremony and getting a piece of the Glide Suit at each location, the respective Zonai Constructs will inform you of the current best record at each location. The records are as follows for each island:
We would recommendacquiring the whole Glide Suit before attempting to beat any of the records. They are possible without it, though extremely difficult.
As each island has a similar diving challenge, here are some general tips for beating the records.
It may take some practice to get your rhythm (and each attempt still costs a Zonai Charge), but beating the record is certainly within reach. However, the only reward you get for completing the challenge is aLarge Zonai Charge. Depending on how many Zonai Charges you use trying to beat the record, this may be a net loss in energy.
That said, any time you beat your own record, you get another Large Zonai Core.
