The Sporetailresists Water attribute damage, the Poison ailment, and is completely immune to Fatigue. It takes the most damage from Slash and Pummel weapons like the Karakuri Katana and Mauler, but Lunge-type weapons are close in damage as well.

Best Equipment To Fight Sporetail
Similar to most Kemono, the best armor to use for this fight is actuallythe armor you unlock upon defeating the Sporetail itself. This armor set providesFatigue Resilience, reducing the rate at which Fatigue builds up, and has good Wood defense to protect against the Sporetail’s elemental attacks, although it doesn’t have many.
However, the first time you hunt the Sporetail, you will need to use a different armor set. Luckily, theVeteran Kusazuri pants, crafted usingGoldshard materials, provide13 percent Fatigue Resilience, which isn’t a lot but every bit helps. For the rest of your armor, use equipment that hashigh overall defense, like theNinja (Lavaback) or Long Reed sets. Alternatively, the Basara (Kingtusk) armor can work, but you’ll have to be a bit more careful when taking damage.

For your weapon, you should definitely craft and use ahigh-damage Fire attribute weapon. The Sporetail takes the most damage from this element, which will make the hunt go faster and help you earn stuns and knockdowns on the Kemono a bit easier. TheLavaback weaponsin particular are great and easy to craft, provided you can hunt the Lavaback a few times.
