The eighth chapter ofLike A Dragon: Ishinis all killer and no filler. While many of the more recent sections of the game have bounced Ryoma all around Kyo, this chapter is just a chat or two, followed by sieging a fort, and ending with a flashy climactic battle against one of the game’s most noteworthy characters.

We will help you navigate Sengoku’s gilded fort, making sure that you don’t miss any of the collectibles scattered around the mansion, we will then give you a breakdown of the boss battle with the ever-unpredictable Okita.

Exploration Phase

Start by heading to the Shinsengumi barracks. Okita will want to talk to you in private. So, head to the warehouse in the back. You will be invited to join in a raid-or maybe a heist-by Okita. From here, head back to the Teradaya. You will now finally be able to sleep in the Teradaya and change the time of day!Rest until nighttime, and then meet Okita on the westmost side of Fushimi.

This is the perfect time to start exploring Kyo and looking for Substories you may have missed. Some of them are locked to specific times of day, so, if you are missing a Substory in a given area, try visiting the area during a different time of day. Another thing to look for during the different times of day would be Satow’s memoirs. Some of them appear to be associated with specific times of day as well.As an example, a memoir will appear a little west of the Teradaya’s entrance during the night.

Sengoku’s Mansion

Once you enter the mansion, grab thegold nugget to the right of the entrance. Now, cross the bridge and fight the guards. Enter the house, cut down the shoji wall, and fight the guards.

There are a few gun users, target them first. Once you clear this room, cut through the decorative shoji. There is a gold nugget on your right.Take out the two guards waiting for you in the hallway, then shoot the guy holding the furniture blocking the hallway.

In the next room, you will have to fight a large group of enemies. Use your best crowd-clearing attacks to clear them quickly.Cross into the next area, and you will fight a heavily armored spear user.Switch to your sword, cut ‘em a bunch, and you will be fine. After that, you will follow the target into an outdoor area where they will confront you with a Gatling gun alongside some riflemen.

Don’t try to fire back at the troops or anything. Just move behind cover and advance during reloads. If youdoget hit, you don’t take too much damage. Once you get close, Sengoku will run. The riflemen will also be overcome by fear: take them out with your sword. Now, use the Gatling gun to wipe out the approaching swordsmen. Before you move on, make sure to grab the gold chunk by the Gatling gun. Leave this area and pursue Sengoku further. On the way to the next room there are some acid rounds.

This next room has an armored giant and two additional armored troops.you may use the acid rounds you just picked up to quickly rid yourself of the giant’s armor. After that, switch to your swordsman style. All his club swings will break your guard, but you can re-guard in time to block the follow-up attacks. While this troop is massive, and they do deal an absurd amount of damage, you can still knock them around pretty easily and they don’t take hits all that well. Once you kill the big boy, take out his two normal-sized partners.

Once you finish the armored troops off, some cutscenes will play, and you will get to face off against the boss of this chapter. Who is, of course, none of other than the wild dog Okita himself!

Boss Battle: Okita Soji

Okita has two phases. The first is his swordsman phase, in the next phase, he will switch to his signature tanto.Okita is pretty straightforward when he fights with his sword.Nearly all of his attacks are pretty straightforward slashing sword swings. They aren’t particularly fast, and they don’t tend to break your guard.

He does haveonemove where he will quickly leap into the air and brings his sword down on you. This is shockingly fast, and he will repeat this leaping slash multiple times in a row. However, it doesn’t break your guard, so you may just hold the block button and be perfectly fine.

After you have taken about a third of his health, Okita will throw his sword at you, instigating a quick time event. Now the real fight will start.

Okita likes to use a number of quick jumping attacks. One of them sees him rapidly slash his tanto mid-air. However, all these attacks are blockable. His jump kick, on the other hand, will break your guard. So watch out for that one.

Okita still primarily uses blockable attacks. However, he does also start to use some more evasive moves that help him get to your back.you may just dash away from him while he does this, and you will undermine the potential back attack.

When Okita does his villain laugh taunt, he will be invulnerable. He will then follow said taunt up with a jumping sword attack where he will plunge his blade into the ground, causing an explosion of dark energyto erupt from the ground. This special move has tremendous range, but, once again, it is very easily blocked.

Once you get Okita down to a quarter of his life he gets considerably faster. So verify you have your guard up. However, despite being extremely quick, he will still be vulnerable after you block his attacks. So just keep that guard up.

That is the story for this entire fight, for that matter. Very few of Okita’s attacks break your guard, so, you can typically sit back, weather the storm, and then punish him once his attack finishes. Once you finish off Okita, just sit back and watch the cutscenes. You have just finished chapter 8.
