ThePoison and Ablaze ailmentsare greatly effective against this Kemono, while itcompletely resists the Entangled ailment. Likewise,Wood, Water, and Earth attribute attacks don’t work very wellagainst Amaterasu.

As a flying Kemono, Amaterasu isweak to Karakuri devices that can shoot it out of the sky, like theRepeater Crossbow, Fireworks, and Harpoon, the latter of which you will awaken to during this fight, provided you have theSpring and Stakeequipped.

Best Equipment For Fighting Amaterasu

Amaterasu useshigh-damage physical attacksduring this fight, so we recommend crafting and equippingarmor with the highest defenseyou can. SomeWood attribute resistance is helpful, but be sure to prioritize overall defense. At this stage, theGreat Juniper, Brighteye Archer, and Cut-Throat armor setsare all great choices. One of Amaterasu’s most common attacks is itscharge dash. While in the air, Amaterasu willquickly dash toward you, dealing damage. This attackmay be repeated a second time. The best way to avoid this attack is toremain cautious when the Kemono flies into the air, and get ready toroll to the side when it dashes. Be prepared to roll again if Amaterasu follows up with a second attack.

Throughout the fight, Amaterasu will fly into the air beforediving downward, dealing massive damage where it lands. Sometimes, the Kemono’stalons may get stuck in the ground. When this occurs, be sure toget a few attacks in while it recuperates.

Amaterasu has the unique ability toabsorb Celestial Threadfrom the area around itself, causingexplosionsto occur in the blue-green light. Although this attack is dangerous, you can turn it into an advantage bysummoning a Harpoon or Repeater Crossbowto knock down Amaterasu. Just be sure to get clear of the Celestial Thread explosions, first.

Amaterasu has along-range attackthat it will use when you are a certain distance away,conjuring feathers that fly toward youat rapid speed. If the Kemono sweeps one of its wings, get ready to dodge these feathers. This attackmay be repeated a second time.

When Amaterasu has taken enough damage, it willenrage and its body will turn red. During this time, Amaterasu willattack more frequently, and it willgain new attacks. You’ll need to be even more careful during this time, as Amaterasu’s attacks can deal lethal damage.

When enraged, Amaterasu will summonrings of golden light, which it will use to eitherenhance its aerial dash attack, or gather together to create a massiveball of energy. In either case, when you see Amaterasu summon this golden light, be prepared to dodge a big attack. Similar to its Celestial Thread gathering move, Amaterasu is slightly more vulnerable while gathering energy, which you canturn into an advantage with the right Karakuri.

Amaterasu may alsofire a laser from its beak, blasting the area in asweeping motion. Moving behind the Kemono will allow you to avoid this attack, using aSpring Karakurito quickly get there.

Amaterasu’sfeather attack is powered up when enraged. Now, itsfeathers are able to lock on to you. To avoid these, you’ll need tododge at just the right time. These feathers will also deal much more damage than their normal version, and can be deadly if you are hit with enough of them.
