We’ve scouted out some of our favorite pieces of card fromHearthstone’sReturn To Naxxramas mini-set. The first mini-set in the March Of The Lich King expansion features some consistent themes of corruption, poison, and death, which fits with the cruel Lich.

Some of these are funny, some of them are disgusting, and all of them are great pieces of art - one of the reasons why Hearthstone & its world are still so popular.
9Zombees
This zombie appears to be wearing some sort of bunny costume, surrounded by buzzing bees and munching into a bright pink heart. The colors really pop on this card, which is why it stuck out to us so much.
Fantastic imagery all over here, although it’s pretty clear that the zombie has been hit right through the head with an arrow - isn’t that the one rule of a zombie apocalypse? Always aim for the head? Apparently not in the universe of Hearthstone.

8Hookfist-3000
Does it get much better than a mech pirate with a gigantic hook and a classic pirate hat? Hookfist-3000 doesn’t stand out in terms of the deck’s themes and recurring imagery, but it’s an awesome concept that we couldn’t really overlook.
It’s also neat to see the different potential combo minions we could see in the future - both for how the cards play, but also for the sweet crossover art.

7Felscale Evoker
This card really pops - the evoker itself has fantastic horns and green magical blades. It looks so impressive compared to the pathetic little zombie that’s getting smited.
The card isn’t really that good and it doesn’t fit into the meta, but at least it’s got pretty colors and an angry-looking demon on it.

6Cannibalize
A few of these mutants turn up throughout the Return to Naxxramas mini-set, with a lot of green goo all over the place. These two monsters might be eating one of their pals. In fact, we’re almost certain they are.
We love the frantic expressions on both the monster’s faces. This is a recurring theme throughout the set.

5Trinket Tracker
The Trinket Tracker is a hideous card, but we love the vibrant colors (especially of the bright purple hair, the glowing trinket, and creepy eyes.)
This Undead monster must be some sort of corrupted ranger, as they appear to be tracking footsteps through the snow.

4Knight Of The Dead
More zombies (noticing a theme yet?) but this time it’s a Paladin card, which means you’ve got a badass character chopping through them with fury and glee. We love the fact this knight is literally kicking their boot right through a zombie’s head.
The details and consistency with the rest of the set really seal the deal on this one - it’s nice to see some of the zombies from the other side of the action.

3Stitched Creation
This is probably one of our favorite cards from the set, not only because of the artwork, but because of the concept in general. This is meant to be a sneaky Rogue card (you can tell from the hoods and daggers), but this big monstrosity isn’t going to sneak up on anyone.
It follows on from the mutated theme of the entire set (scientific creations, potions, creepy-looking monsters), but this is probably the most horrific of the lot. Gnarly stuff.

2Blazing Transmutation
More themes, we love a theme - here’s another awesome card with some grotesque artwork. This looks like one of the experiments gone totally wrong - and whoever has tried to transform themselves is having a real terrible day.
The color of the flames, the huge, gnarled hand, and the expression of pure terror on the character’s face make this one of the very best cards from this mini-set.

1Mistake
This is our favorite piece of card art from the entire Return to Naxxramas mini-set. This abomination of a creature is awesome - it’s a combination of a crab, bird, murloc, fish, monster, thing. Not only is the card art awesome,it was also one of the cards we thought would do really consistently well in this expansion.
