AsFortniteprepares to leave the first season of its fourth chapter behind to make way for season two, players have been reminded of a weapon introduced this season and its ongoing issues. A full season later andEpicstill hasn’t perfected the Shockwave Hammer, vaulting the controversial weapon from the game yet again.Epic informed the Fortnite community the Shockwave Hammer had been vaulted again via its Fortnite Status account. The reason why it has been vaulted, however, has not been revealed. The tweet simply blames “an issue” of which the weapon has had many throughout the ongoing season which comes to an end this week.RELATED:Live-Service Games Are Dead, Long Live Live-Service GamesThere’s a bigger problem in play than some of you simply missing the hammer while it’s gone. A number of challenges, some of which many of you will be frantically trying to finish before they reset for the new season, require the hammer in order to complete them. Epic has clarified any challenges that require the Shockwave Hammer have been swapped.

Although it doesn’t appear to have been officially reported by Epic, Fortnite dataminerHypex has confirmed Slurp Juice has also been vaultedfrom the game. Again, the reason for this, and whether its absence is connected to whatever the problem seems to be with the Shockwave Hammer, is unclear. Perhaps both items have been vaulted in preparation for the arrival of season two, and we may well have seen the last of the controversial hammer.

The Shockwave Hammer has had Fortnite players splitall season long. Largely because it has suffered from issues that have seen it vaulted before. Players were sharing clips of the hammer destroying entire buildings with one swing, and there was a point after that, when it was supposed to be fixed, thatpeople were using it to levitate. A fun weapon, but maybe it’s best left vaulted for season two.
