Last year,LegoandFortniteannounced: “an immersive, creatively inspiring, and engaging digital experience for kids of all ages to enjoy together.” We weren’t provided any details on the collaboration, but we were told that it would be “family-friendly” and “empower [kids] to become confident creators.”
We did know that it would somehow involve the metaverse, and since Epic loves to call Fortnite its metaverse, we assumed it’d involve everyone’s favorite family-friendly battle royale shooter. Fast-forward to today and we’re finally getting an idea of when we can expect Lego and Fortnite to unveil their big collab.

“The Fortnite X LEGO collaboration continues to progress, as Epic Games is now internally testing a new version called ‘Dev-JunoStable’ (Juno = LEGO),” wrote Fortnite leakerShiina(who quotes dataminer @GMatrixGames for the info). “The expected release date for the collab is Chapter 4 - Season 4, based on the version of the test servers.”
Fortnite’s current Chapter 4, Season 2 just got started last month and is expected to wrap up in early June. Then Season 3 should arrive sometime in the fall, so Season 4 and the Lego collab is probably going to arrive this winter at some point.
Given the fact that both Lego and Fortnite both love to build things, we can likely expect this crossover to lean into the constructive aspects of both brands. We might see something in Fortnite where players build structures made out of Lego bricks, or we might see a Lego set featuring classic Fortnite characters. Or we might just get a Fortnite Creative project where players put down their guns and play with Legos.
All that’s speculation, of course. We might just get a bunch of Lego-themed cosmetics. We’ll have to wait for more leaks to determine the extent of this collaboration.
Lego does love its brand collabs, especially when there’s something else going on. The recent Super Mario Bros. Movie heavily featured the Kong family, so we get a teaser for theupcoming Donkey Kong Lego sets. Perhaps we just need to wait for a big deal to hit Fortnite for a similar Lego teaser.
And in recent Fortnite news, the OG SMG is back. For the first time since Chapter 3 of Fortnite’s first season, players can obtain the SMG in every rarity up to Legendary, providing a close-in weapon that absolutely shreds health bars so long as you may tame its recoil.
