Weapons are the most important part ofFortnite.Having a diverse setup can give you excellent coverage against any situation you can face in a match, so it’s important that you pick your weapons carefully. It’s hard to do this in the early stages but, as you advance, you’ll be able to find many interesting weapons out there.
RELATED:Fortnite: New Mechanics Guide
Chapter 4 Season 2 has added a great collection of weapons that work perfectly together, and there isn’t a single useless weapon in this season. If you want to learn more about them, let’s take a look at all the new and unvaulted weapons of Fortnite Chapter 4 Season 2.
Kinetic Blade
The most interesting weapon of Chapter 4 Season 2 is theKinetic Blade. Not only because it’s a good melee weapon but also because it gives you a lot of mobility.
The Kinetic Blade has a main attack namedKnockback Slash. It has three hits, on the first two hits, the target will receive35 damageper hit, reaching a total of70 damage. In the last hit, instead of dealing damage, the target will get knocked back.

It’s fair to say that if you send the target through the sky and fall from a considerable height, it’ll receive the usual fall damage.
The Kinetic Blade also has a secondary attack namedDash Attack. The Dash Attackwill impulse you to the frontand will inflict 60 damage to every target that is on the way of the Dash. You can’t spam the Dash Attack asit has three charges, and each charge has a ten-second cooldown time.

The charge Cooldown time can be reduced with the Dignified Finish Augment.Every time you kill an opponent with the Kinetic Blade and you have a Dash charge on cooldown time, the charge will get automatically restored. It won’t restore all the charges of the Kinetic Blade.
The Dash Attack has a drawback; everyDash has a startup time of 0.30 secondswhen you can’t move anywhere until the Dash gets activated, meaning you’ll be briefly exposed to receive damage every time you Dash.

So, even if the Kinetic Blade seems like a useful weapon, it can be an invaluable item if youuse it to move through the map.The Kinetic Blade can take you out of the storm quickly and can make you travel through Points of Interest in a matter of seconds if you know how to manage the charges of the Dash Attack properly.
It’s recommended to use the first charge of the Dash Attack to fly to the air, then the remaining two charges to impulse yourself to where you want to go.

SMGs and Pistols
The Sub Machine Guns and the Pistols useSmall-Ammo bullets. you’re able to find all of these weapons in chests, on the floor, and fishing. If you open a Rare Chest, you have a chance to get a Rare (or better) version of these weapons.
Twin Mag SMG
The Twin Mag Sub Machine Gun (or SMG) is a weapon added in the previous season and has a characteristic that makes it shine above the rest of the weapons,as it has two reloaded mags.
This means thatif you consume a magazine of this weapon, your next reload will be fast, taking only 1.3 seconds to reload. When you consume your second mag, then you’ll have to reload both magazines, which will take a total of 2.3 seconds.

It’s recommended to always have an eye on the remaining bullets of both mags. Try to reach every battle with both mags full, so you don’t spend 2.3 precious seconds reloading while your opponent moves.
After consuming both mags, if you haven’t killed your opponent, it’s recommended to switch weapons instead of wasting more time reloading, but this is an unlikely scenario.

Both mags of this weapon have 20 bullets, which is pretty standard. There are many SMGs from other seasons that have a better bullet count, but considering that the reload time isn’t that long when you switch mags, it’s worth it.
Here’s a table of damage comparison between a Common Twin Mag SMG and its greater versions:

It’s fair to say that if you land aheadshotwith a Twin Mag SMG, the damage will bemultiplied by 1.5.
Tactical Pistol
The Tactical Pistol is anautomatic pistolwith a high-fire rate, even to the point when it can be used as a replacement for an SMG. This weapon is also highly valuable because of itssmall recoil and its tiny spread; in other words, it’s easier to land shots on a medium or short distance with the Tactical Pistol than with the Twin Mag SMG.
As it’s an automatic weapon, you may hold the Fire button, and it’ll continue shooting, and yet, it’s recommended to tap the Fire button as it’ll give you a lot more control over the weapon and let you shoot at greater distances.
Each mag of the Tactical Pistol has 15 bullets, and the reload time will depend on the class of the weapon. Here’s a table with the damage comparison of all the classes of the Tactical Pistol and the reloading time of each of them:

Shotguns
The Shotguns useShotgun Shells. These weapons can be commonly found on the floor, in chests, and by fishing.
Havoc Pump Shotgun
The Havoc Pump Shotgun is ahigh-damage, slow-reload weapon, which is onlyusable in very short distances.
The most notorious thing about this shotgun (and the thing that makes it worse than the other shotguns) is thatyou have to pump in between shots, which leads to very slow damage in battles, and it’s a drawback in case you are fighting against a target with an SMG.The bullet spread of this shotgun is very wide; hence why it excels in very short distances.
This weapon is ideal for short-distance battles. It’ll work better for you if you do hip shots instead of aiming, as you’ll have a better range to shoot.
Aiming with this shotgun in short distances can be problematic, as these battles usually involve a lot of movement while aiming will force you to stop for a while.
Each mag of this shotgun has only six bullets, and itreloads by only one shell at a time. The reload time will be shorter the better the class of the weapon, but regardless of the class of the weapon, it’ll take you a lot of time to reload.
Here’s a comparison table of the damage that this shotgun can deal depending on its class and the amount of time it takes to fully reload it

If you want the Mythic version of this weapon, you’ll have to find and defeat a character named Highcard.
He and his grunts spawn after a short amount of time in every golden Point of Interest, andafter defeating him, he’ll give you his Vault Card. After picking his card, the game will automatically ping the Vault location, so you can open and loot it.
Every pellet of the shotgun shell that lands on the head will see itsdamage increased by two.
Combat Shotgun
The Combat Shotgun is ahigh-damage, quick-reload time, high-range shotgunthat excels in medium distances and is the perfect weapon to use if you don’t want to rely on SMGs.
The pellets of every shot of this shotgun spread in a small range. This can mean that the Shotgun isn’t as good as others in short-distance battles, but in fact, it’s verygood to use in short distances, too, if you know how to aim from the hip or have enough room to aim.
Thanks to this small range, every shot in the head will deal a lot of damage. It’s not as good as the Maven Auto Shotgun in this sense, but it’s a better option than the Havoc Pump Shotgun.
Each Mag of this Shotgun has eight Shotgun Shells, and it has a quick reload time as it reloads two shells at a time. Below is a table comparing the damage and the reload time of all the classes of the weapon:

Maven Auto Shotgun
The Maven Auto Shotgun takes all the best things of the Havoc Pump Shotgun and the Combat Shotgun and mixes them together into afully automatic, short and medium-ranged, high-damage, and short-reload time shotgun.
This one is a weapon that adapts to every situation, asit has a short fire rangethat is wider than the Combat Shotgun’s range but shorter than the Havoc Pump Shotgun. The best part of the shotgun is thatit’s automatic, which meansyou’ll spend less time between shots. It’s ideal for those who have bad aiming. Also, the recoil isn’t strong on this weapon.
Each Mag of this Shotgun has six bullets, but in this case, instead of inserting shells into the weapon, you’ll have to spend some time to reload the shotgun fully. In other words, you can’t use it while reloading like the previous two shotguns.

Rifles
All of these weapons useMedium Ammo. The Havoc Suppressed and the Red-Eye Assault Rifles can be found on usual loot (Chests, on the ground, or by fishing).
TheOverclocked Pulse Riflecan only be found asa reward for claiming the Capture Point of the Loot Island.
The Loot Island is the floating island that spawns when the match is about to end in a random place on the map.
Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle
The Havoc Suppressed Assault Rifle works like a usual Rifle; it’s good in medium and long distances, has a fast rate of fire, and is fully automatic. However, it is also worth noting that it has an interesting perk,as it’s a suppressed weapon.
Thanks to the silencer, this weapon is ideal for those who prefer not to engage in battles and instead like to hide, asit will not emit a blip in the radar every time you shoot, and you won’t hear where the shots come from.
Each Mag of this rifle has a size of 30 bulletsand has a standard reload time of 2.5 seconds. To further comparison, here’s a comparison table of the damage every class of this weapon has and its reload time:

This weapon also has a Mythic class, which is also known as theHighcard’s Havoc Suppressed Rifle. This one has better stats than the Red-Eye Assault Rifle, and it’s way easier to get than the Overclocked Pulse Rifle, as well as having a longer mag size. It’s ideal to have on your matches if you have the chance of defeating Highcard.
you’re able to get the Mythic version of this weapon three times if no one defeats Highcard when he spawns in MEGA City, Shattered Slabs, and Brutal Bastion.
It can be a good strategy to go with your squad and take on the three Highcards, so everyone has this rifle.
Lastly, every headshotwill get itsdamage increased by 1.5.
Red-Eye Assault Rifle
The Red-Eye Assault Rifle is a good option in case you don’t get to find the Havoc Suppressed Rifle. It has everything a Rifle can ask for; it’s fully automatic, andit’s great at long distances because it has a red dot weapon sight.
The only problem with this weapon is thatit inflicts less damage than the Havoc Suppressed Rifle. To compensate for it, it’s a great weapon for those who have bad aim asit’s way easier to aim with it.It’s one of the few weapons that you have to aim with in first-person view.
Every Mag of this weapon has a size of 25 bulletsand has a standard reload time of 2.5 seconds. Here’s a comparison table of the damage each version of this weapon deals, including the reloading time:

Overclocked Pulse Rifle
The Overclocked Pulse Rifeis a perfect medium and high-range, fully automatic Riflewith a considerablyslower fire rate but great damage.Other than that, it acts like a usual Rifle.
This weapon has a DPS of 266 if aiming and 200 if shooting from the hip, and every bullet will deal 57 if aimed and 38 if shot from the hip.
Each Mag of this weapon has a size of 20 bullets, and it has areloading time of 2.68 seconds. It’s pretty slow compared with the previous two rifles, yet it’s not a game-changer difference.
Everyheadshotyou land with this weapon will have itsdamage increased by 1.5.
Marksman Rifles
The Heavy Sniper and the Dragon’s Breath Sniper useHeavy Ammo, while the Cobra DMR usesMedium Ammo. The Heavy Sniper and the Cobra DMR can be found on Chests, on the floor, and by fishing, but theDragon’s Breath Sniper can only be found on Holo-Chests.To unlock it, you’ll need two keys.
Be aware thatpeople can see you when you are aimingbecause all the Marksman Rifles have a new feature namedSniper Glare.Every time you aim, your weapon will emit a very noticeable shine; this is to avoid people camping for a lot of time and forcing them to use the Snipers only in specific situations.
Heavy Sniper Rifle
The Heavy Sniper Rifle isthe weapon that deals the most damage in the game.As it’s a Sniper, it’s way better to use in long and very long distances, and it’s not recommended to use in medium and short distances as you’re able to’t aim with it from the hip.
Every Mag of this weapon only has a bullet, and it has a standard reloading time of 3.5 seconds, meaningyou have to be very precise on your shotsif you want to be dealing damage constantly. Also, this weapon deals a lot of damage to buildings, which is perfect for revealing targets.
Below is a table of the damage this weapon can inflict on every class, as well as the reload time:
There currently isn’t an Uncommon (Green) version of this weapon.
Lastly, everyheadshotwill see itsdamage increased by a whopping 2.5.A well-landed headshot from a Legendary Heavy Sniper can sweep your target’s shields and HP.
Cobra DMR
This Marksman Rifle is pretty unique as it’s a semi-automatic Sniper with a large Mag sizethat you may use to aim from the hip and uses Medium Ammo. Even though it’s perfect for large distances, you can also use it for medium distances. It’s not ideal, but it can get you out of a sketchy situation.
This weapon has a Mag Size of 20 bulletsand has a standard reloading time of 3.5 seconds. Nonetheless, you’ll find a table comparing the damage of this weapon’s different classes as well as its reloading time:

Dragon’s Breath Sniper
The Dragon’s Breath Sniper works exactly like the Heavy Sniper Rifle;it’s a long-range, slow-fire, high-damage weaponwith only a single bullet in its Mag. This weapon is weaker than the legendary version of the Heavy Sniper Rifle, asit only inflicts 121 damage per bulletandhas a reloading time of 2.5 seconds.
The only thing that makes it viable in the game is thatit can set structures on fire, which is pretty useful in Battle Royale, but it’s not as good in Zero Build Mode.
Heisted Weapons
The Heisted Weaponsare just Exotic versions of most regular weapons you can find on the map.Of course, they deal much more damage but are harder to find than regular weapons. Also, every weapon holds a specific mechanicyou can activateby reloading or shooting.
Heisted Blink Mag SMG
The Heisted Blink Mag SMG is the Exotic version of the Twin Mag SMG.Whenever you reload this weapon, you’ll get the Zero Point Dash effectfor a short time.
The Zero Point Dash makes you teleport through small distances. It can be useful to close gaps against enemies.

Heisted Run’ N’ Gun SMG
The Heisted Run’ N’ Gun SMG is the Exotic version of the Submachine Gun, which we saw for the last time in Chapter 3 Season 1.The Submachine Gun acts like a Twin Mag SMGbutwithout having a second magattached to the weapon, so it doesn’t have a short reload time.
If you shoot and hold with the Run’ N’ Gun SMG, you’ll get a Slap Effectmomentarily, meaning your stamina bar will not decrease while running.

Heisted Accelerant Shotgun

Nonetheless, this weapon has a way better fire range, as it concentrates its pellets in a single section. Also, the Breacher Shotgun deals extra damage to structures.

Defensive Weapons and Items
The Defensive Weapons are the real game-changers, asthey can help you heal yourself or put a barrier between the damage and you.
Chug Cannon
The Chug Cannon is a wonderful item no matter the situation, asit’ll maintain you and your friends healed. If you shoot to the floor, you’ll shoot a can of Slurp that will give youa heal of 15 HP,and if you have full HP,it’ll also replenish your Shields. If you shoot at a teammate, you’ll heal it too, but be careful, asthe weapon can also heal your opponents.
The Chug Cannonhas five charges, and these charges havea cooldown time of 20 seconds. It reloads automatically.
This weapon has a drawback, and that is thatit occupies two slots of your weapon inventory, but it isn’t a big deal considering you have three spaces left that you can freely fill with weapons. In this game, you won’t need more than a Long, Medium, and a Short range weapon.
you’re able to only get this weapon through the Chug Gunner Augment.
Shield Bubble
The Shield Bubble is a utility item thatwill create a big shield on an area upon landing. The Shield will protect the people inside from shots from the outside, but every player can get inside or outside the bubble freely.
The Bubble lasts 30 seconds, which is more than enough time to heal yourself with Med Kits, the Chug Cannon, or the Slurp Juice.
You can use the Shield Bubble in a vehicle, which is perfect for moving through the map while being sure you’ll not receive any shot from the distance.
you may get this item in Chests, floor loot, or by fishing.
Slurp Juice
The Slurp Juice is a healing item that has been jumping on and out of the game since its introduction in Season 1.But in Chapter 4 Season 2, it got buffed, and its rarity changed to Legendary.
The Slurp Juicewill heal six HP or Shield Points per second for a total of 20 seconds, which is more than enough to fully heal and shield you. Also, the Slurp Juice can only be obtained through theCombat Cachesand on theCapture Point of the Loot Island.
