Pokemon Gocontinues to pack its season schedules with different in-game events, providing players with new features and bonuses while they are available. The first limited-time event for Pokemon Go’s latest season, Season Ten: Rising Heroes, will be a one-day event titled the Catch Mastery Event, offering unique bonuses for those who participate.

Taking place onSunday, Jun 16, 2025, from 10am to 8pm local time, this event will be centered around “Hitmon” trio, including Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop, and catching Pokemon with accuracy. Being such a brief event, we’ve put together everything you need to know to take full advantage of what it has to offer.
Event Bonuses
There will be two different bonuses available to all players during the time of this event. First,Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, and Hitmontop will have a higher chance of being shiny when encountered.These three Pokemon are typically hard to find in the wild, so this is a great opportunity to obtain their extremely rare shiny variations.
Additionally, you will be provided withtwice the XP for catching Pokemon using Nice, Great, Excellent, and Curveball Throws.ensure to take your time and attempt to throw your Poke Balls with accuracy, as this will be a great way to rapidly gain XP, a resource required to increase your overall Trainer Level.
Event Wild Encounters
Following this event’s theme, there are two Pokemon that will have a higher chance of appearing in the wild:Hitmonlee and Hitmontop.With the increased shiny rates of these two Pokemon, ensure to log in and play during this event window for a chance to encounter and catch these rare Pokemon variants.
Additionally, you canuse either Lures or Incenseto increase the number of Pokemon that you encounter in the wild.Using either of these items will further your chances of encountering these two event Pokemon, including the rare chance of encountering their shiny forms.
Event Research
Field Research Task Encounters
During this event, there will be differentEvent Field Research Tasksavailable to all players. To obtain these Field Research Tasks, make sure to visit different PokeStops and spin their Photo Discs during this short event window.
These objectives will task you withthrowing Poke Balls accuratelywhen attempting to catch Pokemon, most likely requiring you to make Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws to complete them. Successfully completing these Event Field Research Tasks willprovide you with encounters with Hitmontop,a rare Pokemon that will have higher chances of being shiny during this event.
Event Timed Research
There will be aspecial Timed Researchavailable to all players during this brief, one-day event. The tasks for this Timed Research willrequire you to make Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws,following the event’s theme of catching Pokemon with accuracy.
There will beten sets of tasksthat can be completed for this Timed Research, rewarding you withencounters with Hitmontop.If you successfully finish all ten sets of this Timed Research, you will be provided with a total of40 encounters with Hitmontop,giving you a great chance of encountering its shiny variation with its boosted odds.
Event Eggs
There will be a change in the Pokemon that can behatched from 7 km Eggsthat are obtained during this event window. The only Pokemon that can be hatched from 7 km Eggs acquired during this event will beTyrogue,the Pokemon that can be evolved into either Hitmonlee, Hitmonchan, or Hitmontop.
Make sure toopen Gifts sent to you by other Trainersto obtain 7 km Eggs, as this is the best method for acquiring this specific type of Egg.
If you’re interested in acquiring Tyrogue, make sure to collect and hatch as many of these Eggs as possible during this event.
