Gardening is a basic skill to your sims, one they can cultivate if you so choose. Expansions, like Seasons and Cottage Life, develops your ability to grow your dream garden with new crops and items toensure a successful harvest. With the Greenhouse Haven kit, you can spruce up your green-thumbed sim’s backyard paradise with a gorgeous greenhouse and some choice new items.

10A Clear Look

All the items in Greenhouse Haven are nice and help create the image of a competent gardener. But if you really want to get serious, you will have to go into build mode. Here you’ll find new windows, doors, and roof types, all hinging on one crucial element: clarity.

That is to say, these windows, doors, and the new roof tile create a literal glass house for your sim’s plants to thrive in. You can choose from numerous colors of trim to accent your little backyard paradise. There are two new windows and two new doors, which come in the same color swatches, and offer some variation. You can punctuate your greenhouse with a few open windows if you want to let the breeze in. If you’re going for a more stately appearance, you can opt for larger double doors instead of the single-door version.

9Just Sprouted

These are just for show - they won’t actually grow into anything. Still, if you want your sim to show off their green thumbs, several trays of just-sprouted plants will do the trick. These clutter items are ideal for creating the aura of a busy space full of blooming life. You can pretend every plant your sims placed in the earth of a garden plot came from one of these little guys. They’re simple and elegant and help your green space feel more realistic.

Or, if you want to pretend your sim has already succeeded in creating a flourishing paradise of greenery, you can buy a new hanging pot of flowers to further decorate your space. Add theIndustrial Loft kit’s terrarium, and you’ve got a genuine verdant paradise in the making.

8More Storage

If you’re searching for a more efficient place to put your loose seed packets and other odds and ends, look no further. Greenhouse Haven gives you a new chest to hold all your green thumb secrets, and it doubles as a surface for whatever decor you’d like to show off. They come in colors that compliment the new workstation and accent tables.

Of course, if you’re into the more open-air look, this kit has you covered, too, with new shelving that will hold every single one of your unused pots, over-watered sprouts, and natural pesticides.

7Plants, Of Course

Other than your seedlings, Greenhouse Haven offers two full-grown plants to deck out your garden and your home. You can opt for a hanging flower pot that will be in bloom regardless of the weather. It’s a versatile item that makes your sim’s space that much more inviting. Their blooms come in multiple colors, as well as their fixtures.

You can also buy a small ivy plant that shows off your sim’s botany skills and serves well outside and inside. There is no real variation in terms of the plant’s look, but you can choose whatever pot color you think will best complement your sim’s decor.

6Let There Be (Solar) Light

Your sim’s plants could probably survive just fine without UV lights - or, indeed, without light - but it’s nice to have them anyway. These lights are big and brighter than most, mimicking the sun’s rays to promote healthy plants.

Will your plants grow any quicker, as the item’s description claims? Probably not. Besides, a solar light doesn’t feel especially helpful in a world where you’re able to find a wizard to help you with your garden. Still, if you want your sim to look the part, deck out their garden space with solar lights.

5Pots!

While your sims can’t really choose what plants go in what containers, it’s nice to have the illusion of choice. These are fundamental to gardening, after all, and it would make sense for your gardening sim to want a few options when it comes to where their plants, you know, live. Stacked neatly or thrown haphazardly together, these pots are a constant reminder of what could be - if your sim’s seedlings take.

Not that that matters since you may only grow plants in specific planters or mounds of dirt. Your sim will never have to worry about transplanting something into a larger pot - but that doesn’t mean they shouldn’t be prepared.

4More Space To Work

Everyone can always use more workspace. Of course, the spaces included in Greenhouse Haven aren’t workable - you can’t have your sim do much of anything on them - but they’re perfect for display purposes.

You can get a workstation, around the size of an end table, or some shelves. Here, your sim can show off their seedlings to the world. They’re fairly basic, if a little rustic, in appearance - but more space is more space, right?

3Tools Of The Trade

When your sim gardens, they produce watering cans from the ether, which disappear as soon as their purpose is fulfilled. They can give their plants fertilizer, though that’s limited to items in their inventory. They never wear gloves unless you’ve created a specific garden outfit. Now, at least, they can give the appearance of a serious gardener through specific decor pieces.

With Greenhouse Haven, you can outfit your sim’s green space with bags of mulch and dirt mixed with a trowel, watering cans, gloves, and fertilizer. Of course, they can’t use any of these things, but they’re going to look the part - and isn’t that enough?

2Outdoorsy Wallpapers And New Flooring

It’s unlikely you’ll actually get a good look at the new wall coverings available to you - since your greenhouse will likely be more window than wall. Still, this new siding is perfect for both massive, productive greenhouses and small, humble hobby spaces.

You can pair this new wall look with the new brick interlock, which comes with moss pre-placed - so your space will always be green, even when nothing is growing.

1Wall Decor

A crucial aspect of all greenhouses is their ability to retain and magnify heat. Outside of the Seasons expansion pack, your sim is unlikely todie by overheating, even in a space where the humidity settles on arms like a sleeve. Still, you can opt to place a fan in the walls of your greenhouse to promote airflow.

you’re able to also purchase a ventilation shaft as a triangular, gabled roof, which serves the same purpose. That is to say, it doesn’t serve any actual purpose for your sim’s plants, but it sure does look good.
