3Pokemon TCG Live Battle Passes, Explained
Likemany other games, Pokemon TCG Live features ‘seasons’ where players will have a certain period of time to participate in challenges, earn rewards, and level up a battle pass specific to that season. The Scarlet & Violet Battle Pass is available from March 30th, 2023 to June 8th, 2023. During this time you are able to level up your battle pass up to Tier 50 through playing and can earn rewards, more on that later.
Each new season brings in new content and cards into the game and the Scarlet & Violet Battle Pass is no different. All the cards available in the Scarlet & Violet expansion set will be available in the TCG Live game which makes this the first time you may acquire and use Paldean Pokemon in Pokemon TCG Live. You’ll get eight whole new decks with this season to try out as well!
Similar toother battle passesin other games, the Scarlet & Violet Battle Pass comes in two flavors, the normal or basic pass, and the Premium Pass. Right away, you’ll start leveling up your basic pass.
Once you have enough crystals, you’ll be able to unlock the Premium Battle Pass to unlock two sets of rewards for each tier. Luckily, crystals are earned not by paying, but by leveling your basic pass, completing challenges, and general playing.
2What Prizes Can You Earn?
Both the basic pass and Premium Pass have a slew of different rewards to earn and fortunately for everyone, the Premium Pass won’t cost you any money. Once you have the Premium Pass you’ll be earning two whole sets of rewards for each tier you level up.
Don’t worry about having to get the Premium Pass right away, whenever you unlock it, you may go back to claim the rewards you’ve unlocked beforehand.
Most of the rewards you earn will be cards. Cards come either in Booster Packs, Decks, or specific single cards. You’ll see Booster Packs the most on the rewards table below; even though they’re the most common they are also the most fun to open. A Booster Pack consists of five random cards from its expansion set with a high chance to pull common cards and a small chance to pull rare or super rare cards.
Earning a deck in the Battle Pass will net you much more cards than a Booster Pack, but without the randomness. You’ll earn a specific pre-made deck that you’ll be able to see in-game. Decks consist of 60 cards that have been put together with care and thought.
You’ll also see specific single cards that are special on the Battle Pass track such as VMAX, ex, and V cards.
Lastly, credits, crystals, and cosmetics are also present in the pass.
