With the towns inThe Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdompretty far apart, Stables have popped up all around Hyrule to bridge the long journey between two villages in Hyrule. While you’re definitely able to attend to your horses here, boarding and borrowing them as needed, you’ll also have a handful of other things to do at Stables, like cooking, shopping, and chatting.

This guide contains spoilers for several regions of Hyrule in Tears of the Kingdom, as we go over the entirety of the map giving precise locations.

What Can You Do At Stables?
Just like they did in Breath of the Wild, Tears of the Kingdom’s stables arecentral locationsas you travel around Hyrule that act as centralhubsfor travelers from all around the region. In Tears of the Kingdom, you’ll stumble onto18 stablesin total, with the majority of them functioning as complete, full-serviceinns.
You’ll know you’re approaching a stable during your explorations when you see aplume of smokerising into the sky. As you draw even closer, you’ll see the unmistakable gianthorse head shape atop the stable itselffor further guidance to its precise location.

At these stables, you’re able touse cooking potstowhip up a few mealsto bring on your adventures and potentially even learningnew recipesfrom the bulletin board or visitors to the stable.
In addition, you canrestin one of two types of beds to pass time (possibly waking up with a boost),speak to other travelersto gain valuable information about nearby quests or shrines in the area,board horsesso that they’re available to you throughout Hyrule, and more.

It’s also where you’ll reliably findBeedle, a staple character for all your buying and selling needs throughout the Zelda series. The only thing he has more of than bug facts isgeneral merchandise,like arrows and elixir-specific bugs, but he’ll alsobuy your lootoff of you to ensure you’ve got enoughRupees to fund your adventure.
Since stables don’t act as fast-travel pointson your map by themselves, there will almost always be ashrine nearbythat serves this purpose instead, within Paragliding range. This makes them agreat way to quickly traverse the region, and stop quickly for anything you may need on your way to whatever comes next.

Mini-Stables
Most of the stable locations in Tears of the Kingdom lead you to full-fledged stables that typically offer a full range of the services mentioned above, but there arethree stablesthat are notedly smaller and are, accordingly, regarded as mini-stables.
These can be found labeled as mini-stables inGerudo Valley PassandLookout Landing, whileHateno Pastureacts as one as well. At these locations, youwon’t have access to the full range of amenitiesusually offered at stables in Tears of the Kingdom, but you’ll be able toboard and withdraw horsesin these centrally-located mini-stables nonetheless.
Potential Princess Sightings Quest
White-winged reporter for the Lucky Clover Gazette,Penn, is on the hunt for rumors about folks all around Hyrule who claim to have seen Zelda since her disappearance in the Depths, and he tasks you with helping him get to the bottom of the rumors.
Once you’ve triggered the primary quest for this at theLucky Clover Gazette over in Hebra, you’ll then begin tofind Penn at every Stable in Hyrule, where he’ll likely be speaking to a local about what they may know about Zelda’s sporadic appearances. At each Stable, you’ll be able to complete a short quest to get to the bottom of what the folks of Hyrule may know about your missing Princess, sotalk to Penn each time you see himto trigger and later finish this quest.

You’ll receive a Pony Point the first time you arrive, but there are no traditional Stable services here.

Lookout Landing Mini-Stable

In order to open this stable, you need to first open the Emergency Shelter in Lookout Landing, have completed the Tulin of the Rito main story quest,andhave begun the “Rito Rope Bridge” quest by returning to the broken bridge after the Rito storyline. The quest sends you to Karson, who needs help finishing his stable first. Ultrahand a nearby platform into a roof, and he’ll open the stable.
Lucky Clover Gazette

As this Stable has been taken over as a headquarters for the newspaper, you won’t earn Pony Points for arriving, nor will you have any standard Stable services.
New Serenne Stable

Beware that the Thunder Gleeok isn’t far from here, so be careful if you’re planning to do any climbing from the stable, as you’ll often find it rainy in this portion of the world with the Gleeok whipping up thunderstorms.
