You play Wato Hojo, an aspiring detective looking to make a name for himself as he starts out from the bottom of the barrel. You get transported away to an island named ‘Morgue’ and end up slowly befriending your fellow peers throughout the game.

14Armor
With nothing to go off but his alias describing exactly who he is, Armor Detective is a strong yet vibrant and talkative individual who walks around the island covered in armor from head to toe. His defining characteristic is his desire to protect and help his fellow peers.
His wardrobe, old English speech, and flamboyant tone are the things that set him apart from the rest of the detectives in the alliance. His strength is somewhat on par with Rowdy detective’s, which is impressive.
13Posh
As well-styled and groomed as she is, Posh lacks the mental fortitude and wit to step out of Ideal Detective’s shadow. She is a somewhat annoying character who plays the rich parent’s child trope as often as she can with her dialogue.
The character design is rather aesthetic, but her usefulness during an investigation makes her practically unviable in-game. She barely even shows up during the first hour of the game, so you barely get to connect with the character.
12Renegade
With one of the most interesting character designs, Renegade Detective is a force to be reckoned with, hence why he’s usually kept on a short leash with the explosive in his neck. He’s one of the most annoying aspects of the game you’ll face early on, one of the unnecessary speed bumps that slow down your progress.
He’s smart, conniving, and barely has any right to be a part of the roster since his past is littered with violence and murder. Despite that, he’s good at providing a glimpse into the mind of a criminal.
11Downtown
Endearing but ultimately quite annoying, be ready to see a lot of her during your playthrough. Downtown detective has impeccable style and an outspoken personality. She’s a high school student who has an impressive ability to deduce things through social interaction.
The character is okay to sleuth with and interacts with you more than most other detectives. She’s got good manners for the most part, and a decent heart to boot. Just don’t leave her anywhere near Armor Detective for her own sake.
10Mystic
Aloof and rather stoic in their own way, Mystic Detective is a tough cookie to wrap your head around. He’s not only a veteran detective, but also a borderline crackpot at times when it counts. Once he’s on the comedown from his delirium, he’s actually quite a valuable asset who makes sound observations.

His design makes him look rather cool yet aesthetic, and he’s great at telling spooky stories related to the occult while remaining calm.
9Senior
This seedy old man was not only the first NPC you encounter but also the veteran who brought the entire troop together and gather at the Island manor. Senior Detective was very intimidating and smart when he was first introduced and gave off a smug yet wise feel.
Even though he meets his demise rather early, his vastexperience and knowledge regarding his professionmade him a rather interesting character who was probably very close to cracking the case.
8Ideal
The number two detective in the agency is also one of the most stylish, she’s the perfect candidate for taking over the rankings and establishing herself at the top.
Ideal Detective is a smart and prim woman who’s also considered a femaleSherlock Holmes. She’s also the second-in-command of the detective agency and is capable of incredibly sound reasoning.
7Gourmet
Outspoken and charming, yet completely fixated on food, Gourmet is a treat to interact with in comparison to most of the other detectives in the agency, and you’ll find that she’s much easier to convince as well.
As someone capable of consuming poison, she’s made herself quite adept at spotting cases that involve its use. She’s also a big fan of arresting criminals and upholding her sense of justice, so she gets along with you rather well. She’s got a nose for smelling trouble.
6Rowdy
Despite the rough start, your first interaction with Rowdy Detective was in no way indicative of the heart and solemn promise she possesses despite her dialect. She’s a headstrong character capable of some rather impressive physical feats.

Her role in finding the secret passage with Techie and motivating the other detectives proves her a solid detective responsible for tying the group together in a way.
5Techie
A useful ally but with a debilitating condition. Even though Techie Detective is capable of building up solid hypotheses and displays sound logical reasoning.
Techie is easy to work with and win over as you progress through the game and actively helps out with his mechanical friends, thus proving his expertise and resourcefulness when it comes to electronics and technology before anyone else.
