Playing an Artificer successfully requires a bit of planning, since you’ll need to know which units are getting the Glyphs that you create. Once you’re done, though, you’ll have a force to be reckoned with that can easily handle the Circle’s machinations! Read on to learn everything you need to know about the art of the forge.
How To Craft Glyphs
Every Artificing recipe requires an ore as a base material. Any ore except Gold can be used, and the one you choose will impact the powers of the Glyph.
A Glyph’s powers are determined by its rank, which is tied directly to the ore used to forge it, and its type, which is determined by the combined Essence of all the ingredients. Glyphs of the same type will have similar abilities, but the end result will be different based on the Glyph’s rank.
Additional ores can be used as secondary ingredients, but only the main ore - placed in the far-left crafting slot - impacts the Glyph’s rank.

All Lesser Glyphs (Mountain Copper)
Lesser Glyphs tend to have small but useful effects and are forged with Mountain Copper. This material is plentiful throughout the world, despite its name, and you can find it in all five starting locations. A bar of Mountain Copper always addsone Elemental Essenceto its recipe.
All Greater Glyphs (Sky Iron)
Greater Glyphs have effects that are powerful enough to base a build around. Sky Iron is usually found in mountainous regions, especially the northern parts of the map. Each bar of Sky Iron contributesone Elemental and one Arcane Essenceto its recipe.

All Corrupted Glyphs (Corrupted Adamantium)
A major part of the game’s storyline is that Adamantium, a rare and valuable material, is being corrupted by exposure to the Allfire. Glyphs forged with Corrupted Adamantium usually include a powerful benefit and a drawback. In most cases, you’ll have to travel to dangerous areas away from the center of the map to find it.
Corrupted Adamantium providestwo Death and one Arcane Essenceto its recipe, which can make it difficult to forge Glyphs that require Life Essence.
All Pure Glyphs (Adamantium)
Adamantium is extremely rare, found only in small quantities at the farthest edges of the map. If you reach maximum relations with Silver Drift Hollow, you can purchase one bar of Adamantium from them a week. Once you’ve defeated a Fire Golem and upgraded your forge, you can alsoconvert five Corrupted Adamantiuminto a bar of pure Adamantium.
Glyphs forged from pure Adamantium have some of themost powerful effects in the game, so choose wisely how you use this precious material. Adamantium doesn’t have any inherent Essence, but insteadadds two Essence of each type included in the recipe.
Forging single-Essence Glyphs like Elementalist and Lifegiver can be tricky with Adamantium, since you need to ensure that youdon’t include any other types of Essence.
