Updated on July 19, 2025 by Gabrielle Castania:Now that we’ve had a good amount of time to mess around with the version 1.6 update, we’re updating some of our older Stardew Valley lists to keep them current with both the most recent version of the game, as well as our own publishing standards.
10Set Up Some Artisan Machines
Can’t Hurt To Earn Even More, Right?
Maybe you’ve already chosenthe Artisan professionand it has already made you rich, but if you’re new to the trade, setting up your farm to become anartisan goodspowerhouse is one of the best ways to invest your hard-earned coin so that you can get maximum returns with the lowest possible effort.
Once it’s operational, your artisan farmcan practically run itself. All you’ll need to do is ferry supplies to and from yourMayonnaise,Cheese, andpreserve-making machines, and you’ll be racking up the dough in no time.

9Landscape Your Farm
All About Aesthetics
The slow march of time is no more apparent than when you’re trying tolandscape your farm. Unless you’re playing with the right mods, yourfences eventually decayand your flooring will get eroded by weeds, so if you want your acreage looking pristine, you’ll have to devote extra time to some basic maintenance.
That is unless you’ve saved up a cool 10,000,000g to purchasethe Gold Clockfrom theWizard at his tower. Placing this gaudy timekeeper on your property will prevent debris from spawning both on your Valley farm and onyour Ginger Island farm.

8Embark On Some Luxury (Fast) Travel
Who Needs To Run Across Town?
Getting from place to place as fast as possible is a game-long struggle for Stardew Valley players. Fromacquiring a horseto spending resources on scavenging and building Warp Totems, it’s always prudent to be on the hunt for better ways to get around, so you canspend less time movingand more time working.
If you’re tired of carrying totems, look no further than the Wizard’s Obelisks. These non-perishable towers cost 500,000g apiece, can be built on your farm, and will teleport you tothe mountains, the beach,Calico Desert, orGinger Island. To get back home, buy the Return Scepter from Krobusfor 2,000,000g. With no more commute, your productivity will go through the roof.

7Craft Powerful Weapons
You’ve Never Been Stronger
Between swords, daggers, clubs, and explosives,Stardew Valley’s list of weaponsis long and varied. You’ll need to be heavily armed and dangerous to reach the deepest, most dangerous depths of the mines and dungeons. And while all that firepower comes at a cost, your investment should yield much more in the form ofmob drops, treasure, andvaluable minerals.
Thefull set of Galaxy weaponswill set you back around 160,000g. This may not seem like much, but if you want to upgrade them into theirmore powerful Infinity versions, you’ll need to acquireGalaxy Souls from Mr. Qi. This is a time-consuming and potentially expensive process - prepare yourself for some good, old end-game grind.

6Be A Furniture Completionist
So Many Catalogs!
No single piece of furniture is particularly expensive to purchase, and once you’ve boughtthe furniture catalogfrom Robin for 200,000g after upgrading your farmhouse, you’ll be able to acquire every piece it contains for free.
The catalog doesn’t containevery piece of furniture, though, so the cost increases if you want to get your hands on some ofthe game’s rarer decor. Some can be bought from theTraveling Cart, and you’ll find others atthe movie theater’s Crane Game, the island trader, the Casino, orMr. Qi’s Walnut Room. You won’t be able to fit it all in your farmhouse at the same time, but just knowing you’ve completed one of the more difficult collections will be a satisfying feeling.

5Get Married… Again?
We Don’t Judge
If you’re tired of ending your long days of tending to your crops alone with nobody to share all your shiny gold with, maybe you’re due for aStardew Valley marriage. Pick yourbachelor or bachelorette, gift themeverything they love, and you’ll have earned a partner for life.
Or, you know, since this is a sandbox gameafter all, spend 50,000g on a divorce. And if you’re feeling especially morally dubious, drop an extra 30,000g on erasing their memory so you’re able to do it all over again! With 12 available partners, the marriage-divorce-erase process could cost you more than 1,000,000g - not counting the cost of gifts. But if you’re dead-set on being the most loved-then-hated-then-loved-again farmer in the valley, your investment will be well worth the price.

4Farm On Ginger Island
Island Paradise, For When You Need An Escape
Farming on Ginger Islandis basically like having amassive greenhouseat your disposal: with nearly 900 plantable,sprinkler-friendlytiles, you can increase your agricultural output by a significant margin if you invest enough time and gold into setting up this second,charmingly-tropical farming operation.
You can’t construct buildings on Ginger Island, so if you’ve set up an artisan operation in the Valley, you can get someIridium Sprinklers, the Island Obelisk, and somevaluable recurring crops like Pineapplesto set up a profitable farming operation out in the sun.

3Complete Mr. Qi’s Special Requests
Order Up!
Oh, the mysterious Mr. Qi. He runs the casino in the Calico Desert. He likes to hang out at the slightly creepy Walnut Room on Ginger Island. There’s clearly more to him than meets the eye, but one way or another he has aboard full of challenging special ordersfor you to complete in exchange for some valuableQi Gems, which you can use to purchase items in his shop.
Most of Qi’s special orders don’t require you to spend money outright, but if you want to get your hands on as many gems as possible, you’ll need to collect some pretty rare items andcomplete some tricky challenges, some of which will take a while to get. You’ll be sinking time into quests that you would otherwise be spending on farming.

2Go For The Golden Egg
Your Regular Chickens Will Be So Jealous
By the time you’ve made it far enough in Stardew Valley, you probably won’t sweat the 100,000g price tag onthe Golden Egg, but it’s getting far enough in the first place that will cost you.
TheGolden Eggcan only be obtained afterreaching Perfection, which among other things, includescooking every recipe, catching all fish, andcrafting every itemin the game. you’re able to keep track of your progress in Qi’s Walnut Room, and once you get your Golden Egg you can hatch a golden chicken that will lay one daily.

1Become An Automation Pro
Who Needs Manual Labor Anymore?
Mastering Stardew Valley is all about milking every last drop of efficiency out of every minute of every day. Your farm should run like a well-oiled machine that requires as few manual tasks as possible.
Enter:automation machines. These handy devices make your life easier by performing what are normally some of the game’s most repetitive and monotonous tasks for you. For example, placing an auto grabber in a barn will collect all of your animals’ drops, like eggs and milk, and usingHopperswill allow you to process multiple items without waiting to load each type individually into their respective machine. With automation on your side, your farm will thrive.
