Malenia is probably the toughest boss to beat inElden Ring, or at least she was beforethe game’s recent ray-tracing updatewas applied. As well as making The Lands Between look a little more polished, the patch appears to have seriously upgraded a weapon that will make beating Malenia a breeze for those of you who haven’t beaten her already or simply feel like returning to take her on again.
Shared on the Elden Ring subreddit byjdyhrberg, the clip shows Malenia being defeated in exactly 60 seconds. The trick to felling the demigod so successfully is Morgott’s Cursed Sword. A powerful weapon already that has received such a significant buff via Elden Ring’s 1.09 update, Malenia literally doesn’t seem to know what’s hit her as she is defeated without landing a single blow.

Each swipe of the sword deals significant damage to Malenia who is then hurt further by the blood explosion that follows. The biggest buff to the sword is the one to its attack speed as prior to the update, Malenia was able to move out of the way after taking the hit but before being damaged even further by the explosion.
By the time Malenia has recovered, you’ll have had enough time to swing your sword again, taking another huge chunk of her health bar away and triggering a follow-up explosion. You’ll still need to be a good player as the demonstration shows jdyhrberg artfully dodging Malenia’s attacks. You’ll also need to get your hands on the Cursed Sword in the first place which means defeating Morgott. Not as tough to beat as Malenia, but certainly not a walk in the park.
Although Malenia is an optional Elden Ring boss, she has become synonymous with The Lands Between. Malenia is so hard to beat that a player called Let Me Solo Her took it upon themselves to aid others in their battle against her, slaying her a staggering 2,000 timesandreceiving a special gift from Bandai Namcofor their services to the game.
