A FromSoftware employee called Kenneth Chan has updated their LinkedIn profile to include their role as producer on an “unannounced project”, separate toArmored Core 6andElden Ring’supcoming DLC.As reported byGamesRadar, they’ve been working on this new game for one year and three months, but there are no hints as to what it could be. It might be a sequel to one of FromSoft’s existing games, such asSekiroor even Elden Ring; it could be a new IP altogether, or it could be a remaster. MaybeBloodbornefans will finally get their 60fps. All we can do is speculate right now.RELATED:Elden Ring’s Shadow Of The Erdtree Can’t Get Carried Away With Its Own LoreThis job update was spotted by Timur222 on Twitter who attached a link to Kenneth Chan’s profile where the unannounced project is still listed. While we don’t know what the game is, we do know what kind of role Chan might play in its development based on their history with FromSoft. According to their profile, they co-directed Armored Core 6’s initial prototype and designed the player progression for Elden Ring, so it’s likely they will have an integral role in this new project.
Armored Core 6 is FromSoft’sfirst non-Souls-like game since Demon’s Soulsin 2009, returning to the mecha action of the original games. Since Demon’s Souls, FromSoft developed three Dark Souls games - spiritual successors to DeS - as well as three Souls-likes with Bloodborne, Sekiro, and Elden Ring. This new game could continue Armored Core 6’s shift away from that long streak, or it could return to form. We’ll have to wait and see.
As for FromSoftware’s known projects, neither have a release date yet.Armored Core 6 is reportedly launching in September, with Elden Ring’s Shadow of the Erdtree DLC set to release some time after. Whether that means this year or next is currently unknown. Given that Kenneth Chan has only been working on the new unannounced project for just over a year, it will likely be a while before anything is announced or shown.
