Getting through a zombie apocalypse is hard and rather overwhelming, especially if some of them are far more resilient or unique in their own right. It’s quite challenging, and expecting someone to think clearly and focus on the best ways to scrape by is just unfair.

Certain things just can’t be conveyed with a quick tutorial, and even thoughDead Island 2tried to keep it simple they fail to show you how much damage you’re capable of doing. Perhaps it was an attempt at encouraging healthy player exploration, but there are some tactics that are just far too effective to ignore to make a playthrough easier for you.
12Shoot The Glass To Enter Buildings
Some buildings are just too annoying to bother entering the right way, especially if you’re swarmed with a lot of zombies and need a place to catch your breath. You’ll find that the Goat Pen is a tricky one to enter.
You can either go on to hunt the zombie harboring the key or take the easy route. A good way to circumnavigate this issue is by blowing out the glass with your weapon.

Try climbing onto the roof of a building that requires a keycard and take a shot at the glass ceiling for easy entry.
11Precision Strike At Limbs To Maim
You might find it rather annoying to hack away at a zombie relentlessly only to end up with a broken weapon and two minutes of your life gone. Some zombies are just too resilient and require a lot of attacks to tumble over and maim.
What you should be doing in this situation is actually aiming your strikes with precision. Slow down and analyze what body part you’d like to take out instead of aiming for the creature’s head, as it’s much easier to amputate body parts instead.

10Dropkick Multiple Enemies
If timed right, you can even dropkick a couple of zombies in one go. It’s a tricky yet fun maneuver to pull off and all it requires is some luck and a running start.
The only downside to this tactic is getting yourself attacked because you’re completely open. Dropkicking is way more effective compared to the flying kick, it can help you get some distance from all the enemies around you as they ragdoll away.

9Electrocuting Weapon Mods Stun Enemies
As you may have noticed already during your initial playthrough of the game, electricity is pretty useful when it comes to subduing zombies. Not only does it inflict a substantial amount of damage, it chips away at their health, but it also stuns them in place.

Hence, upgrading your weapon to incorporate electrocuting mods might make your weapon very effective and deadly when it comes to mowing down Walkers or Runners. It won’t be as lethal to Shocking Walkers or Runners, however.
8Perform Melee Kills With Your Bare Hands
As if this game isn’t quirky enough, it even throws you a bone and lets you live out aDoomfantasy within another game. Once a zombie is low enough on health, try parrying them with your bare fists equipped and perform a brutal melee kill.
You get to perform a showy kill with the weapons you equipped too but nothing beats the satisfaction of punching a zombie’s face in as if you’re some kind of Doom Slayer.

7Slash At A Grenadier Walker For An Explosion
Grenadier Walkers are very tricky, they don’t have much mobility, but they’re able to inflict considerable damage once up close. Not only that, they’re rather susceptible to the dangers in their environment.
Any puncture or damage can potentially trigger a countdown to an explosion since they’re wearing vests covered with grenades. You can take a swing at them and funnel them through a herd to have them explode at just the right moment.

6Stun Any Boss With A Timed Parry
There’s nothing wrong with going a little overboard and swinging away indiscriminately at a boss’s body, but it’s not going to help you stay on your feet for too long since they’re essentially wearing super armor and don’t get staggered by your attacks, not even the slightest bit.
You need to start parrying larger enemies to leave them wide open. you may practice narrowing down the timing for yourselfby parrying attacksfrom low-level zombies.

5Fire Extinguishers Can Electrocute Enemies
Believe it or not, if you fling a fire hydrant into an electrical object, it’ll randomly start electrocuting any zombies nearby. The logic doesn’t track with this one, but it sure makes for a quirky way to get out of a sticky situation.

It electrocutes enemies for a substantial amount of time, enough to chip away the stunned zombie caught in its web of flying sparks. Not only is it effective, but it’s also an easy trick to perform too since you find fire hydrants lying around all over the place.
4Chem Bombs Can Extinguish Flame And Zombies
In a surprising turn of events, apparently, the Chem Bomb Curveball can effectively put out fires. It’s a fast method that gets results, and you won’t notice any flames left behind, but the entire area will instead look like it got nuked by a mini-warhead.
You won’t envy any of the zombies who wind up dying to this technique, they will disintegrate just as fast as the fire goes out too. If you notice the larger garden variety of Walkers still standing, chuck a Molotov at them for good measure since the bomb leaves them soaked.

As satisfying as it is to parry your enemies, going for a flashy kill with every other zombie will get rather tiresome at some point.
You might even fumble up and get chipped at by an enemy for every fail. Instead of exhausting your resources like Med Kits, try running or dodging instead.

Most of the main characters you get to choose from don’t have the strength to keep blocking oncoming attacks, there’s a meter and if it’s full you’re going to get hurt. Don’t waste your time on cannon fodder like that.
