It wouldn’t be Hell-A without Venice Beach, and it wouldn’t beDead Island 2without zombies. you may gain some serious XP and levels at Venice Beach, as there are many activities and sidequests to complete. The Muscle Beach, once a hot spot for gym bros to lift and tan, has now become a steroid horror filled with Crusher Apex Zombies.

The army’s failure to quarantine and evacuate Hell-A citizens has resulted in a mass of undead and army equipment, making Venice Beach a profitable but deadly area to loot.
Venice Beach Fuse Box Locations
Venice Beach has6 Fuse Box locations.This is a great deal more than most areas of Hell-A. Therefore you may want to level your character before unlocking them to drop more powerful weapons.
You’ll have to travel to every corner of the map. However, it shouldn’t take you long to unlock everyZomproof Slayer Hoardcontainers. That said, you will need toreload the areaor travel to a different area of Hell-A torestock on Fusessinceyou can only carry two Fuses at a time.
You’ll only have to do this once since there are two Traders in the Venice Beach Area,Kai the chef at Blue Crab Grill,andWarrant Officer Rodriguez,found in theTower.
How To Get To The Fuse Box
Blue Crab Grill Garage Fuse Box
The first Fuse Box location can be found at theblue garage west of the Blue Crab Grill. Be ready for zombies to lunge at you once you open the garage.
We recommend that you jump on the car to avoid the electricity.
Venice Autos Fuse Box
The Venice Autos Fuse Box can be found in the corner of the map by theVenice Autos garageand behind theMuscle Beach Nutritionshop facing east.
Be careful in this area as Crushers and Butchers can be found here.
Lenny’s Fuse Box
Lenny’s Fusebox can be foundwest of the Blue Crab Grillandin the parking lot opposite Lenny’s. While theFuse Boxcan be found on theblue wallwith painted eyes.
The Zomproof Slayer Hoard chest will be found on the back of the wall in themiddle of the parking lot. This area has a high zombie spawn rate of Slobbers, Runners, Spiky Runners, and Bursters, so stay vigilant.
The Tower Fuse Box
The Tower Fuse Box can be found on the tower’sfirst floorfacing the beach. Opening the door with the fuse is only the first step in obtaining the weapon from the Zomproof Slayer Hoard chest.
You will have to navigate Shotgun traps and Caustic-X. We recommend that youstay off the ground and walk along the tables.
Marla’s Tapas & Tacos
This Fuse Box can be found next toMarla’s Tapas & Tacos,locatedacross the street from the Blue Crab Grill to the east.You will need to go to the back of the building to fix the fuse and then walk back to the front of the shop.
Venice Beach Barracks Fuse Box
The final Fuse Box location can be found within thearmy barracksofVenice Beach, facing the ocean.
Venice Beach Lockbox Locations
There areten Lockbox locations in the Venice Beacharea. You’ll be able to open most on your first visit to the area.
However, we recommend that you come back later once you’ve finished the campaign to get higher-level gear.
Where To Find The Lockbox Key
Lt. Land’s Case
Lt. Land’s Case can be found within the army barracks near theMilitaryCommsareaof Venice Beach. The area has three army tents, but you’ll want to enter the tent where you findLt. Ford during the [Redacted] Lost & Found quest.
To acquire Lt. Land’s Case Key, you must kill theLt. Land zombie,who can be found on the boat oppositecontainer 75.
This will be easy enough as Lt. Land is a regular Walker zombie. However, you’ll want toapproach the area cautiouslyas you will find many Grenadier Zombies.
West Coast Weights Cooler
TheWest Coast Weights Cooleris found at theMuscle Beach Strongman Competition areaof Venice Beach south of themilitary quarantine zone. You won’t be able to open this container until you’ve completedThe Giant-Slayer main story quest.
To unlock the West Coast Weights Cooler, you will need tokill Jake Jones a Walker zombiefound in theparking lot behind theGang Green Storewhere you fightDillonduringThe Giant-Slayerquest.
Jake is easy enough to dispatch. However, you will want to watch out for theInferno Crushersin the area as they will ignite thespilled fuel and red barrelsfound in this area.
Skate Things Store Safe
TheSkate ThingsStore Safeis located east of theGang Green Storeand requires theSkate ThingsSafe Keyto be unlocked. Be careful not to get trapped in the store by zombies, as this area is very narrow.
TheSkate Things Safe Keyis dropped byOllie,aRunner zombiefound in the park south of theSkate Things Storeand donut store.
Rose’s Storage Box
Rosie’s Storage Boxis found inRose’s Tattoo Parlorby walking down the street towards the beach from theBlue Crab Grill.
To get inside, hold a storefront fence button down and wait for it to ascend before entering. It can be tricky to access if there are zombies around. However, inside, you’ll be safe from the undead outside.
To unlockRose’s Storage Box,you mustkill Rose a Screamerand acquireRose’s Storage Key. YoufindRosieat theVenice Beachentrance linking toBrentwood Sewers.
Burger 66 Staff Locker
TheBurger 66 Staff Lockerisfound inBurger 66opposite theBlue Crab Grill.
To get inside, you’ll need to break a glass window. This will set off an alarm, so be prepared to fight off some zombies.
To unlock theBurger 66 Staff Locker,you must acquire the Burger 66 Locker Key by killing theBurger 66 Server, a Slobber Apex Zombie, who can be foundat the fountain neartheVenice Beach Police Department and gym.
Lifeguard Hut Safe
TheLifeguard Hut Safeis found on the beach south of Venice Beach, near the Venice Beach showers andVenice Beach Sewage Outflow.
To unlock theLifeguard Hut Safe,you will need theLifeguard Hut Safe Keydropped byBrody, the Lifeguard, a Runner zombiefound further south of the beach.
Tasty Donut Store Safe
TheTasty Donut Storeis located west of theBlue Crab Grilland across the parking lot. You can’t miss it from its pink color. Be careful. This area is filled with Slobbers and Bursters.
TheTasty Donut Safe Keyis dropped by theTasty Donut Boss, who can be found in the parking lot between theTasty Donut StoreandJo’s Rentals.
Officer’s Secure Lockbox
Found in the lockedgunroomof theVenice Beach Police Department, you mustcomplete the Cold Pork Side Questbefore you can access this lockbox.
You’ll find theOfficer’sLockbox KeyonOfficer McKenzie, who can be found closer to the beach, near theVenice Beach Department. Officer McKenzie is aregular Walker zombie,but it’s not all plain sailing. Many Riot Gear Walkers can be found in this area.
Delgado’s Supply Case
Delgado’s Supply Casecan be found on the second floor of theTowerby theworkbench. You can find many firearm supplies and aMachine Pistolon the opposite side of the room.
To acquireDelgado’s Supply Case Key,exit the beach sideof the Tower where the death pits are located andwalk west towardscontainer 66. This is the same area where you obtain thelegendary Bodycount Assault Rifleduring the[REDACTED] Lost & Found Side Quest.
Pvt. Delgadocan be found roaming around the entrance of the container andwill drop the Delgado’s Supply Case Keywhen killed. This is an easy enough fight. Watch out for the Burster hiding in the showers.
Gang Green Store Safe
You can only unlock theGang Green Store Safebycompleting theMissing: Pablo Side Questacquired inSerling Hotel in the Ocean Avenue area.
You’ll find theGang Green Storewest of theTasty Donuts store. However, you will need theGang Green Gate Keyto enter.
TheGang Green Gate Keyis required to open the gate at the back of the store in the parking lot where you initially fight Dillon duringThe Giant-Slayer Storyquest.
To acquire the key, you must killDoc Martin,aWalker zombiefound at theGang Greenstorefront. However,Doc Martinwill only spawn once you’ve completed theMissing: Pablo Side quest.
Cold Pork Side Quest
Cold Porkis the firstSide Questyou will acquire inVenice Beachand is picked up by talking toTrentin theBlue Crab Grill—Distraught over the dangers of roaming Crushers in theVenice Beacharea. Trent will ask you to retrieve weapons from the nearbyVenicePoliceDepartment.
How To Complete
Break Into The Venice Beach Police Station
To break into theVenice Police Department,you will need to destroy twoMagLocksto enter thePoliceDepartmentoffice. You will find thefirstMagLockin thebathroom,and thesecondis foundon the other side of the windowand is destroyed by using a ranged weapon.
Once inside, you will need to pick up thePoliceDept. Keycardfound below the notice board in the back of the office to progress to the next area.
Search The Police Station For Guns
Opening the door using thePoliceDept. Keycardwill open up the station’s weapons and locker room. The room containing theGunCaseand weapons is locked. But all you need to do is grab the keys from behind the counter and pick up theGunCase.
Make sure to take theAssaultShotgunand loot theGunpowderandammoin the room before you leave.
Bring Back Guns For Trent
Once you’ve acquired theGunCase, head back toTrentand complete theColdPorkSideQuestnetting you the following rewards:
Organ Donor Side Quest
Once you’ve completedCold Pork,you can pick up theOrgan Donor Side QuestfromTrent, who wants you to gather zombie parts fromMuscle Beachand theVenice Beach Sewage Outflow. You can complete either objective in any order.
Travel To Muscle Beach
To obtainRoided-Up Zombie Parts, travel to theMuscle Beach Strongman Competitionarea near theQuarantine Gateleading to theTower.
Load up ammo; you will have to fight a horde of zombies and many Crushers.
Travel To Venice Beach Sewage Outflow
To obtain theGross Zombie Parts, you must travel to theVenice Sewage Outflowlocated far east of the map.
Normally, a few zombies spawn in this area. However, entering this area with theOrgan Donor Side Questactive will cause manyBurstersandSlobbersto spawn.
Kill Bursters In Venice Beach Sewage Outflow
You’ll have to enter the Venice Beach Sewage Outflow pipes, kill the Burster at the end of the pipe and pick up its Bloated Gland to complete the objective.
Exiting the Venice Sewage Outflow will trigger several Bursters and a Slobber to spawn.
Return To Trent With The Zombie Parts
Once you’ve gathered theRoided-Up Zombie PartsandGross Zombie Parts, head back toTrentto claim your reward:
Coast Guardian Side Quest
To acquire theCoast Guardian Side Quest, travel to theLifeguard Hutsouth of theVenice Beach Police Department.
You will then have to clear all the zombies away from the hut revealing that a lifeguard calledBurtis looking to find out what happened to the survivors in his group.
Search For Burt’s Survivors At Venice Beach Police Department
Burt will first ask you to search the nearbyPolice Departmentfor survivors. Be careful. The area is filled withBurstersandRiot Gear Walkers.
If you’re fast enough, you can enter thePolice Departmentwithout engaging in combat. Inside you’ll find aCrusherzombie but nosurvivors.
Search For Burt’s Survivors At Venice Kitchen
Hoping that the survivors had taken refuge inVenice Kitchen, a small food takeaway located on the promenade past thePolice Department.
In true Dead Island 2 fashion, you will encounter many more zombies in the area during the quest than you usually would.
Once you’ve dealt with the zombies in the area, open theVenice Kitchenshutters revealing that the survivors died days ago and aSlobbernamed One OfBurt’sGroup likely devoured them.
Clear Zombies From Burt’s Lifeguard Hut
Clear out a zombie horde swarming theLifeguard Hut. Once you’ve killed all the zombies, talk toBurtto claim your reward:
Cremains Of The Day Side Quest
Cremains of the Dayis the firstSide Questgiven to you byW.O.Rodriguezat the Tower.
Rodriguez wants you to fire up thedeath pitsand burn the zombie horde that has grown from thequarantinezones.
Fire Up The Death Pits
You will find theDeath Pitson thesouth side of the tower.To light theDeath Pits, ignite the red barrels or shoot the pits. You mustlight threeDeath Pitson the beach to complete the quest.
Kill The Burning Zombies
Burning WalkersandRunnerswill spawn each time you ignite aDeath Pit. These zombies are immune to fire damage. However, you can extinguish them by luring them into the ocean.
Ignitingthe thirdDeath Pitwill causeM.C. Spitzfireto spawn aFirestorm Slobber Apex Zombievariant that can launch flames at you.
Debrief W.O Rodriguez
Once you have defeatedM.C. Spitzfireand the remaining burning zombies, you can return toRodriguezto debrief her on the mission and claim your reward:
Diaries Of The Dead
W.O Rodriguez is the last surviving soldier in Venice Beach. A convoy sent to the Comms area was overwhelmed by a swarm of zombies. Rodriguez wants you to upload the letters.
Locate The Missing USB Stick At The Swarmed Convoy
Your first objective is to locate the convoy andMissing USB stick. Theconvoycan bespotted from the military base and is marked by Humvee trucks. Once you enter the area and pick up theMissing USB, you’ll have to fight waves of zombies with radio support fromRodriguez.
Kill The Signal Officer And Zombie Swarm
Rodriguez will inform you where the zombies will spawn. Once you’ve killed a few waves, theSignal Officerwill spawnalongside Crushers.
Kill theSignal Officerand pick up theKeycard, allowing you access to the Comms area of theVenice Beach military base.
Advance To The USMC Comms Area
The back of thebarracksof the Venice Beach military area finds theUSMC Comms Area. Begin the upload by interacting with the device with a satellite.
Upload The Fallen Soldiers Data
Uploading theFallen Soldiers Datawill trigger a zombie swarm to spawn. You’ll be attacked by aMutator,Butchers,andRunners. You can retreat into a shipment container at the top of the area to heal.
Debrief W.O. Rodriguez
Once you’ve killed all the zombies in the area, you’ll inspect thesatellite dishto reveal that the upload has failed, and you will have to report toRodriguezand claim your reward:
Lost & Found Quests
Venice Beach has twoLost & Found Side Quests, both containing very powerful weapons.
We highly recommend that you complete them, as you can unlock theBodycount Assault Rifle,a legendary weaponand thebest riflein the game. Furthermore, theLost & Found Side Questsdon’t require you to complete each step, so you can quickly complete them.
Jo’s Rainy Day Stash
Jo’s Rainy Day Stash Lost & Found Side questis acquired by picking upJo’s journalwithin theJo’s Rentals storemarked by a shark mascot sign andeast of theTasty Donuts store.
Kill Jo’s Shambling Body
The journal will take you to another rental store. However, you can head straight to the parking lot nearVenice Autos. Walk by the red truck to findJo’s Shambling Body.
Climb Marla’s Tapas & Tacos
The final clue will lead you toJo’s Rainy Day Stashon the top ofMarla’s Tapas & Tacos store.you’re able to get on the roof by climbing theStar Haul vanto the roof. On the roof, you will findtwo Walker zombiesguarding the stash.

To acquire the [REDACTED] Side Quest, you must travel to the military barracks near the Comms Area.
We highly recommend that you complete the [REDACTED] Side Quest at a high level to get the most value out of the Bodycount Assault Rifle and save money from not having to use the Match Level feature.
Kill LT. Ford In Venice Beach Barracks
Inside the tent containingLt.Land’sCase, you’ll findLt. Ford, aWalker zombiewho drops the[REDACTED] journalandSide Quest. The journal will prompt you to travel to numbered containers found along Venice Beach. However, you can head straight to the container containing theBodycount Assault Rifle.
Travel To Container 66
To complete the[REDACTED] Lost & Found Side Quest and obtain theBodycount Assault Rifle, travel to the Tower andenter the death pits area.Walk west from the tower toContainer 66,and you’ll find the Bodycount within a weapon case within the container.
