After nearly a decade of waiting for Dead Island 2, we’re just a short week-and-a-bit away from its release on April 21. That long wait is about to get shorter for a few lucky players, as an eBay seller has somehow managed to get their hands on the game early, with at least one person already playing it and sharing their thoughts on the game so far.

As reported by GamesRadar+, Redditor Marcellius-the-3rd shared an image on the Dead Island subreddit showing that they’ve already got their hands on the game. According to them, the copy comes from a “guy on eBay” who had “a bunch of copies”.Twitter user bryce690 seems to have found the eBay seller, 2007marquiss,who has apparently sold ten copies of the game so far.
If the listing is legitimate, and it appears that it is, then that means that at least nine more people are soon going to have early copies of the game and are likely to start sharing screenshots, videos, and thoughts over the next nine days until release. It’s not clear if the eBay seller found by bryce690 is the same as the one that Marcellius-the-3rd got their copy from, but if so then it would lend credence to the listing being legitimate.
Although it appears that the street date hasn’t yet been broken by retailers and that early copies are just limited to this eBay seller, if copies are already being spotted and sold there then it seems like it’s just a matter of time until we start seeing more pop up from different storefronts over the next few days.
As we always recommend whenever a street date gets broken, if you’re at all interested in keeping Dead Island 2 a surprise for yourself, then it might be time to start muting keywords and avoiding the game’s Reddit page, as those with early copies are likely to be sharing screenshots and videos as soon as they can.
Thankfully, Marcellius-the-3rd hasn’t been sharing any spoilers from their time with the game so far and has onlyshared some of their impressions from the first few hours.
