The final chapter ofResident Evil 4 Remakeis a short one, but it’s got action and excitement the befits the game’s climax! Combat is limited to a few Novistadors at first, but the showdown with Saddler is - naturally - the biggest fight in the game. The Plaga Lord may be big, but he’s not invincible.

How To Reach The Final Battle
Search the lab for notes and items, especially theFirst Aid Spray against the left-hand wall. When you’re ready, leave through the door you entered by. Boost Ashley up to the ladder on the left, and she’ll lower it for you to climb up. Cross the bridge, shooting the cask on the ceilingto get a gem as you do, then follow the corridor. Smashing all the barrels and crates along the way will help replenish your ammo.
Go through the door at the end of the hall to return to the Sanctuary.Use the tunnel on the rightto reach the ground level. Follow the only path available until you reach a point where you canclimb up a ledge on the right side of the room. Before you do so,crouch through the hole on the leftto reach the altar. You can get a Treasure and some last bits of lore.

Once you’re done, return to the ledge and climb up. Go through the door at the top and continue.
Pay careful attention to the rocks on the ground, as there arecamouflaged Novistadorsin the area. The Biosensor Scope can identify them immediately.

At the end of the corridor you’ll find a Merchant room on the left. There’s a chest just outside his door with a Gold Ingot that you can sell. Stock up - the final battle is literally around the corner!
Head outside and use the binoculars to see Ada below.Take the elevator down to herand the boss fight against Saddler will begin.

How To Defeat Osmund Saddler
Start byshooting the red barrel on the rightas soon as Saddler enters the combat area. Next, run along the gantry picking up everything you can - there are plenty of items to be found, and you’ll need them. Switch to your preferred weapon andshoot the eyeballs on Saddler’s knees. When they’re destroyed, they’ll turn green. Destroy enough of the eyeballs and Saddler will fall over, allowing you to perform a knife followup.
When Saddler jumps out of reach, he’s preparing one of two maneuvers - either he’ssummoning a swarm of Novistadorsor he’s about to spray acid at you. The Novistadors only take one shot to kill, and they drop ammo, gunpowder, and herbs - this is how you’ll stay stocked during the battle. you’re able to interrupt Saddler’s acid spray byshooting the orange eyeball in his mouth, but you’ll have to be fast and accurate to pull it off. It’s much easier to dodge bymoving slightly to the left or rightjust as the spray begins - you’ll land between two streams of acid.
If Saddler gets too close, you’re vulnerable to several attacks. His tail can be dodged, and his leg attacks can be parried, but the window for each is very short. He has two grabs, one of which can be broken with a knife counter, but the other is guaranteed damage as hethrows you across the room.
After two or three knife counters' worth of damage, the fight will transition to its second phase. This is actually the easiest fight in the game - all you have to do iskeep shooting the center eyeand dodge tentacles. If a tentacle is straight up in the air, it will come down direclty on top of Leon -move left or rightto get out of the way. If a tentacle flexes, it’s going to swing horizontally, requiring you to dodge.
Once you’ve dealt sufficient damage to the eye, Ada will toss you a rocket launcher.Pick it upand fire at the eyeto end the battle.
How To Escape The Island
When gameplay resumes after the cutscene, the island will detonate intwo minutes.Grab the Green Herb on the left after leaving the elevator (so that you can start your New Game Plus playthrough with it), save at the typewriter, andrun! When the bridge ahead crumbles, jump acrossand open the door. Don’t worry about the Ganados, they’re harmless now. Keep following the path until you come to a dock with a jet ski. Use Ada’s key to start the engine.
Hole the fire button to keep the jet ski moving as fast as possible, avoiding collisions as you go. Since youcan’t control the camera, the best strategy is tofocus on the area ahead of yourather than on the jet ski itself.
The jet ski can’t turn very quickly, so line yourself up with tunnels well in advance to avoid damage!
If you manage to make it out without taking any damage (that is, without contacting a wall - crates and ramps don’t damage the jet ski) you’ll earn theSmooth EscapeAchievement / Trophy. Damaged or not, though, when you emerge from the caves you’ll have finished the game!
