Cereza’s Skill Tree During Chapter 6 Highlighting Cheshire Reflect

Of the most important features, Skills will make up most of your combat experience. However, there are also special powers you’ll unlock throughout your gameplay. With so many options, you’ll have the freedom to choose how your combat style evolves throughout your adventure.

All Of Cereza’s Skills

Cereza’s Skills are allnon-attackingandmeant to support Cheshire. Some skills will beautomatically gained, while some will need to beunlocked using the Skills Mirror feature(unlocked duringChapter Three).

To purchase skills with the Skills Mirror, you’ll need:

Onyx Rosesare necessary for all skills, while the rareMoon Pearlsare used for later, advanced skills like Multi-Bind or most tier-two skills.

The only powers of Cereza’s that are not classified as a “Skill” are her abilities to useDispelwhen in an illusion and toAbsorbpower sources after gaining a new Elemental Core.

Hold ZL and move Left Stick to use magic on plants and objects.

Thorn Bind

Hold ZL toward an enemy to bind them with magic, rendering them immobile. Has a cooldown.

Absorption 1

Successfully use Thorn Bind to recover a little bit of magic.

Absorption 2

Successfully use Thorn Bind to recover a moderate amount of magic.

Multi-Bind 1

Add one Spell Cooldown gauge to cast Thorn Bind on two enemies quickly.

Multi-Bind 2

Deal damage and increase binding time against enemies during vulnerable moments.

Witch Time

Performing a perfect dodge with L just before being hit will slow down time and allow Cereza and Cheshire to move at high speeds.

Appears automatically during the boss fight in Chapter 13.

Wood Element attacks are typically in the’Fast' category- alongside Water Mode Cheshire. They are ‘stretchy’ andhave a longer melee rangethan other element modes.

When using Wood Mastery, the Bind-Combo creates a circle of wood around Cheshire, followed by aspread of three vinesin the direction Cheshire faces.

Stone Element

The Stone Element allows Cereza toAbsorb large stoneswith orange-yellow lines.

Cheshire’s Stone Mode has the highestoutgoing damagein exchange for itsslowest attack speed. He cantank projectilesand, for some of his magic,acts as a shieldfrom lasers.

When using Stone Mastery, the Bind-Combo creates a large shockwave around Cheshire and follows up with amoving wall of stonein the direction Cheshire faces that can push enemies.

Water Element

The Water Element allows Cereza toAbsorb circular, blue “water sources"to drain bodies of water.

Water Mode Cheshire is, like Wood Mode, afast-paced attackerin exchange for raw damage. Its attacks canthrow enemies in the airortrap themmid-air in bubbles.

Thanks to itscombo-versatility, it’s an exceptional mode to switch into when using Shift Strike.

When using Water Mastery, the Bind-Combo creates a splash around Cheshire before creatingthree large Aquastreams in a conein front of Cheshire. After a few seconds, these Aquastreamsconverge into one powerful stream.

TheWater Masteryattack can be crudely aimed while being used.

Fire Element

With the Fire Element, Cereza canAbsorb fire sourcesto turn off nearby fire traps.

Similar in speed to regular Cheshire, itranks second in terms of raw damage potential(only after Stone Mode). Attacking in Fire Modecauses explosionsaround Cheshire for large amounts of damage but has thedrawback of decreased visibility.

Fire Mastery allows Cheshire to create a large and extremely powerfulAOE explosionaround himself after a Bind Combo.

Potions

You canplay through all of Bayonetta Origins without needing to use a single potion.Concocting them is equally null-and-void in most playthroughs thanks to the abundance of potions within chests.

Potions appear to enjoy the effect ofMixing Potencyregardless of whether you concocted or found the potion. The game does not appear to distinguish between them.

However, Potions can be extremely useful in combat, withtheir use being undeniably valuableagainst some of the game’s toughest bosses.

There arefour types of potions, and you can have a maximum of nine of each at any time with max upgrades.

Cheshire Unbound

Although not available until the late game and during your fight with Lucaon, Cheshire Unbound is an immensely powerfulcombat modewith anentirely new movesetto learn.

With Cereza on top of Cheshire, she’ll be able touse potionson Cheshire butlose the ability to use Thorn Bind/Thorn Vice.

DuringChapter 13, she’ll also be able to perform Witch’s Time when on top of Cheshire and dodging.
