Often considered one of the more formidable player-versus-player (PvP) classes inWorld of Warcraft, Warlock has more than a few tricks up its sleeve. Despite its status as a seemingly squishy spellcaster, these demonic masters can do anything from damage reduction, to crowd control, to topping the damage charts.

One of the specializations that performs exceedingly well is Demonology Warlock. While they may not deal high damage numbers themselves, they swamp the battlefield with overwhelming amounts of demons at their command, often disorienting the enemy before destroying them completely. If you want to join these masterminds, then here’s everything you need to know.

Getting Started

As one of thehighest-performing pet DPS classes, Demonology fits the stereotype of a master of puppets more than anything else in the game. While your direct damage may be lower, your time will be spentsummoning myriad demonsto do the job for you.

You may have tospend a few moments to get all of your demonsonto the battlefield, which is one of Demonology’s biggest drawbacks. But once you have more than twenty minions at your command, you’ll be unstoppable.

Stat Priority

Because Demonology is another spellcasting class, yourprimary stat will be Intellect. Without it, your spells and demons would do minimal damage. Luckily, you can find Intellect onany piece of cloth armor or staffin Dragonflight.

For your secondary stats,prioritize Haste. This will let youget through your rotation quicker, thus allowing you to summon even more demons at any one time. Several of your talents, like Inquisitor’s Gaze, will also rely on your Haste stat.

Gearing Up For PvP

After you hit max level with your Demonology Warlock, you’ll want togear yourself properly for PvPto give yourself the best chance of winning. Generally speaking, you’ll want to raise your Item Level to increase your power further.

The first source that you should always check isWorld Quests on the Dragon Isles. These are easy objectives scattered throughout the four zones that provide pieces of gear more often than not.They also scale to your power level, meaning that you’ll only receive upgrades from completing them.

If you’ve run out of World Quests,dungeonscan grant you equipment, as well. They will often provide anywhere fromminor increasesfrom completing normal difficulty tohuge upgradesfrom running Mythic+.

Both of these will provide yougood starting gear to jump into PvP. As you begin your battle, you might accrue points ofHonor and Conquest. These two currencies are used to purchase PvP-specific equipment fromSeltherex and Calderax in Valdrakken.

These two vendors will sell you the gear that you really want. Not only are these pieces laden with a variety of secondary stats to choose from, but theyraise your item level in battlegrounds and arenas to 410and beyond, eclipsing anything that you could earn from world content.

Gems And Enchants

As you gather your PvP set, you can usegems and enchants on certain pieces toboost your Intellect, Haste, and Mastery, increasing your performance.

Demonology Warlock PvP Talents

For your talent selection, you should use your Demonology tree tobuff your Felguard and Dreadstalkers, as these are your hard-hitting demons. You should also grab Nether Portal, which will become a core part of your rotation.

Your general Warlock tree should be used tobuff you and your demons' stats, give you plenty of avenues of healing likeLifeblood and Grim Feast, and grant you more utility spells to stun or slow the enemy.

Demonology Warlock Rotation

Your core rotation will consist ofsummoning as many demons as you canat any one point, using Nether Portal and Demonic Tyrant for maximum efficiency. If done correctly, there will be few on the battlefield that can stand against you.

You should wait to use Call Dreadstalkers for when you procDemonic Callingwith your Shadow Bolt or Demonbolt,letting you cast them for free.

Utility Tips

As a Warlock, you have anunbelievable amount of utility toolsat your disposal. Consider weaving these abilities into your rotation whenever necessary tonegate damage or escape from a bad fight.
