In the realm of video games, worlds often collide. Just look atFortnite. Darth Vader can go toe-to-toe with Kratos or John Wick with its seemingly never-ending rostermaking the game a worthwhile investment. But it’s all completely absurd.Call of Dutyis positioning itself as a competent character shooter in the same sphere.

While the games are, of course, based on military stories and engagements featuring special forces operators, it’s clear that a new trend has been brewing where licensed characters (both fictional and real) can enter the fray. The series has now dipped its toes into the pond of ’80s action epics, horror serial killers, and even professional soccer players.
10Ghostface - Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
In the long list of serial-killing horror characters, Ghostface is a peculiar figure to see on the battlefield. After all, it’s a little odd seeing the character draped in his wraith-like attire operating an AR like a total boss. Fans of the character know him to primarily be a connoisseur of bladed or blunt objects with a partiality to the knife.
Ghostface was available as an operator skin for a brief period during the Halloween season of 2021. So, if you acquired the skin and feel like taking the horror to a bunch of unwitting operators in Warzone, put the costume on, take a knife and stalk your victims — just like in the films.

9Snoop Dogg - Call Of Duty: Vanguard
When it comes to owning the virtual battlefield, there’s not a person around who’s going to “drop it like it’s hot” quite like Snoop Dogg. Thehip-hop star is known for his love of competitive gaming, especially Call of Duty. He even created his own esports league, the Gangsta Gaming League. So, adding Snoop to the roster of operators seems like a match made in heaven.
He became an available operator across Call of Duty: Vanguard and Warzone in April 2022. With Snoop Dogg as your virtual avatar, you better have the skill to back it up. Make Snoop proud.

8Leatherface - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare
During 2019’s Modern Warfare, Leatherface became an available operator during the Halloween season alongside Billy from Saw. Verdansk even had a remote farmhouse within its territory that teased the coming of Leatherface to the roster. When you found it, it would quickly become clear that the home wasn’t for any ordinary family. You could even hear the soundbites of a chainsaw in the distance.
The big, maniacal killer could be claimed as an operator skin. Just like the strangeness of supplanting Ghostface’s signature knife with an AR, imagine Leatherface setting his chainsaw aside to unleash havoc with an LMG.

7Lionel Messi - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
Call of Duty often stays in the limelight by maintaining brilliant marketing themes. The all-star Argentine forward soccer player (or footballer rather), Lionel Messi, was added as DLC to the SpecGru faction of Modern Warfare 2 in tandem with the 2022 World Cup. He is joined by Brazilian player Neymar Jr. and French footballer Paul Pogba.

Messi’s addition to Modern Warfare 2 and Call of Duty Mobile compliments the rising star. His fame only adds to the cool factor of playing him as a Call of Duty operator.
6Rambo - Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
The ’80s are alive and well in Call of Duty Black Ops: Cold War. Indeed, the game’s central narrative and themes are focused on the height of the Cold War during the ’80s. But for added measure, the developers saw fit to inject some popular ’80s entertainment into the whole multiplayer affair. Rambo became one of two operators from ’80s action cinema to join the roster.
While Rambo comes with the Italian Stallion’s famous mug, Stallone didn’t lend his vocals to the cause. Still, John Rambo is a perfect fit for the all-out warfare that ensues in Verdansk during a rousing game of Battle Royale.

5Armored Titan - Call Of Duty: Vanguard
It’s hard to imagine something as visceral and grounded as the settings within Call of Duty crossing over with an anime property. But hey, we did get Leatherface, after all. Attack on Titan has become a fiercely popular series over the past few years, so it only makes sense that two giants in the entertainment industry meet.
Only this meeting manifests in the form of an Armored Titan skin as an operator. Now, don’t go thinking a massive Titan is stomping around Verdansk every time a player dons the skin. He is, of course, scaled to that of a normal human. But he’s quite a sight nonetheless.

4The Terminator T-800 - Call Of Duty: Vanguard
Arnold Schwarzenegger’s T-800 makes his debut in Call of Duty: Vanguard as a playable operator. His mission isn’t to just terminate Sarah Connor or the T-1000 this time — everyone’s a target.
Fans of the film series can roam the battlefield in Arnold’s likeness. But if you wanted something even more sci-fi in appearance, use a battle-damaged skin or remove the skin altogether for a look at the laser-eyed endoskeleton underneath.

3The Terminator T-1000 - Call Of Duty: Vanguard
Don’t worry, the T2 bad guy is represented. Alongside Arnold’s T-800 comes Robert Patrick’s villainous T-1000. With the visage of the liquid-metal killing machine in his biker cop uniform, the T-1000 is sure to turn heads. But he’s not nearly as indestructible as his film counterpart (thank goodness).

With both the T-800 and the T-1000 as player operators, perhaps you can see a re-enactment of one of the explosive action sequences in T2 with these two duking it out in a gun battle. Chances are, it’ll end much faster than anything on the silver screen.
2John McClane - Call Of Duty Black Ops: Cold War
The second of the two ’80s action stars to come to Black Ops: Cold War is none other than John McClain of Die Hard fame. Yippee Ki-yay! McClane is done with dropping terrorists like Hans Gruber off of Nakatomi Plaza. Now he can put his one-man-army skills to the test in Call of Duty. And with that said, he fits right into the roster.
Some of his execution animations are quite exquisite and ripped right out of the film. Watch him put his hands in the air after having a gun pointed at him only to pull a fast one on the would-be killer. Happy trails, Hans.

1The Shredder - Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2
In March 2023, the big bad of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles comes to Modern Warfare 2. At first blush, it might feel like a random addition to the roster. But closer inspection shows that this Japanese-based warrior lines up with the Japan-themed second season of Modern Warfare.
Additionally, the announcement and subsequent launch were well-timed with the release of the TMNT Mutant Mayhem movie trailer. The Shredder might be a master martial artist and combatant, but in Call of Duty, he won’t be above wielding an RPG to take a bunch of enemies to task.
