15Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries Of Honjo

Paranormasight: The Seven Mysteries of Honjocenters around the titular seven mysteries, which have been passed around as a ghost story. Each of its characters becomes intertwined with ghostly happenings as curses begin to infiltrate the local area.

The game is more of a visual novel that focuses on the narrative and mysteries in the plot, but there are also some superb puzzles interlaced throughout the gameplay to keep things engaging. It has six endings to achieve, and you’ll have to make some tough choices to reach them.

14World Of Final Fantasy Maxima

In World of Final Fantasy Maxima, twins Lann and Reynn discover that they have lost their memories, but used to be Mirage Keepers and need to gain back their mirages - Pokemon-like creatures from across the Final Fantasy series.

Lann and Reynn can use their mirages in battles and to cross different terrains while exploring Grymoire. Final Fantasy fans will enjoy this title because of its charming art style that brings together various fan-favorite characters from the series, such as Vivi, Yuna, and Cloud. If you’re looking for a lighthearted RPG on Switch, World of Final Fantasy is a great choice.

13Triangle Strategy

Triangle Strategy has an extensive plot where your choices can impactthe overall narrative, which follows three kingdoms who previously fought for resources. Although the kingdoms eventually came to a time of peace, this is shattered when a betrayal strikes the kingdoms, forcing Serenoa and his allies to take action.

If you’re a fan of traditional tactic RPGs, Triangle Strategy’s battle system will appeal to you, offering a challenge that builds upon the familiarities of the genre. Its HD-2D graphics are also gorgeous, especially in its detailed backgrounds.

A revamped version of the remake of Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together that launched in 2011,Tactics Ogre: Rebornoffers an updated experience of the classic strategy game. Set in the Valerian Isles, it follows a story of political intrigue, where each decision weighs on the narrative.

Boasting quality-of-life improvements and a re-recorded soundtrack, Reborn is the definitive version to play this tactical classic that is genre-defining in its approach to battles and decision-making. Whether you’ve yet to experience it or enjoyed the first two iterations, Reborn is certainly worthwhile.

InBravely Default 2, four characters, which form the Heroes of Light, journey across Excillant to heal nature’s balance, which was disrupted when the Crystals were stolen. The game evokes classic fantasy RPGs with its vibrant world and inspired job system that gives you lots of freedom to customize your characters.

While it is part of a series, the story stands alone, so you can dive in even if you’re not familiar with the other games. The titular Brave and Default battle system is successfully utilized, which gives the game’s turn-based battles an edge and encourages you to think more strategically.

10Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers

Although a sequel toChrono Trigger, Chrono Cross: Radical Dreamers differs from its predecessor in many ways while still alluding to Chrono Trigger’s events. Chrono Cross follows Serge, a teenager who finds himself unwittingly thrust into an alternate universe where he died as a child.

Determined to discover what truly happened, Serge eventually decides to help Kid on her quest to obtain the Frozen Flame. Chrono Cross also boasts a large cast of characters, with it being possible to recruit 45 party members. This edition features the Radical Dreamers story, which was the foundation for Chrono Cross itself.

9Legend Of Mana

In Legend of Mana, you’re appointed with the responsibility of restoring the world of Fa’Diel to its former glory. You use artifacts that you collect on your journey to create ‘Lands’ - towns or dungeons that you can then traverse.

It’s this mechanic that drives the game forward and separates it from other Mana and RPG titles. The remaster’s delightful art direction retains the original’s charm with a mix of sprite work and hand-drawn backgrounds. If you’re looking for a different, non-linear RPG experience, give Legend of Mana a try.

Nier: Automatahas you playing as 2B, an android stationed in a post-apocalyptic world that has been attacked by alien forces.The game has 26 endingsand an additional one with the DLC, so multiple playthroughs are necessary to discover the full truth of the story.

The poignant story has resonated with many people, with it discussing various profound themes, such as the traumatic experiences of war and how this can affect people. The Switch version includes the DLC, which gives you access to three colosseums and additional costumes.

InOctopath Traveler, you pick one of the eight characters to start your journey, where you travel through Orsterra, encountering each different character on the way. Every character has their own story to tell, as well as a ‘job’ that dictates which abilities they can use in battle.

Throughout the game, characters can take on different jobs, allowing you to customize your party. As well as its unique approach to turn-based battles, Octopath Traveler’s positives lie in its HD-2D graphics, which helped it to revitalize the pixel graphic medium.

InDragon Quest Builders 2, RPG elements combine with block-building mechanics to create an engrossing experience that, rather than being a generic builder sandbox game,delivers on both genres.

You don’t need to have played the previous title to enjoy this one either, as its story and characters are entirely new. The malevolent cult, the Children of Hargon, has forbidden creation, so you will have to harness your abilities to become a true builder. Alongside its single-player story, you can play with up to four others online to work together on new and creative builds.
