The crossbow inCall Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2is arguably one of the most versatile and stealthy options in your arsenal. It’s often a one-hit kill, provided you didn’t tag a limb, and it is highly accurate. Of course, the crossbow’s major downfall is the reloading sequence.

Often, Overkill is a wonderful perk to employ with the crossbow for this very reason. Switching to another weapon is much quicker than reloading another bolt. Still, if you know how to wield this formidable weapon, you may dominate the battlefield. And like every weapon choice available, it all comes down to the attachments, tuning, and loadout you employ alongside it.
Maximum Accuracy Crossbow Build
Recoil should always be dead last in priority for any build you construct with the crossbow.A crossbow is already a single shot per reload. So, recoil isn’t going to play a significant role in giving you the tactical advantage.

FTAC Piercer
This build’s primary objective is to ensure that anytime you miss a shot, it’s a user error.And while the standard (no attachment) loadout is typically lethal with most shots, it doesn’t always ensure an enemy hits the ground.
When you fire a bolt, you don’t want your opponent to survive it in order to retaliate. For that reason,this build also leans into the weapon’s damage output.
TheSo Momenti armswill bolster this weapon’sdamage range and bolt velocitymaking each shot even deadlier. The16-strand cableshould betuned for accuracy.
This is really the icing on the cake as far as this build is concerned. If the tuning is maximized as indicated, the’s bolts will fly straight and true beautifully.
TheFTAC Piercer stock boosts accuracywith only a minimal hindrance to mobility. TheFTAC Ripper 56underbarrel attachment will furtherstabilize accuracy and recoil.
These four attachments will ultimately make you the most efficient killer from a distance.
This build is not meant for fast and frenetic combat. But you’ll be deadly if you find a decent perch with a wide angle.
The optic attachment is, of course, optional here. However, we prefer theBPZ40 Hybrid, which allows you to easily switch between a reflex lens and a scope.
If an engagement at a moderate range presents itself, having the reflex scope handy can be a real lifesaver. It may even be more ideal than the deeper magnification in certain maps.

If you need to switch to a rapid-fire weapon in a pinch and you don’t want to sacrifice a perk slot for Overkill, amodified version of the X13handgun might be your best bet. And when we say modified, we mean that it’s customized to your liking.
If you’re in a sniper’s nest, theTrophy Systemwill save your life if an enemy is on to you. Additionally, theGhost perk will shield you from easy detection.
Fast Handsis a no-brainer here, as we’ve already mentioned that the reload time is painful with the crossbow. AThrowing Knife is recommendedas your preferred lethal tool because it’s alsoan extremely quick option to lob at an enemy if you miss a crossbow shotat close range. It works even faster than switching weapons if your aim is on point.

This build focuses less on sinking the shot as it does onmaking quick, strategic moves with the crossbow.To do this, we’re going to utilize theexplosive bolts.
You’ll also forgo an optic attachment in favor of alaser attachmentto aid in hip fire and shotswhere the laser will give you a quick, general idea of the bolt trajectory.
Remember that the laser is visible to enemies, so aim low when you want to conceal your position.
For tuning the weapons attachments, you want toemphasize ADS (Aim Down Sight) speed and mobility.TheCarbon Elite V3 arms are lightweight attachments that will increase movement speedsin all directions.
However, alightweight weaponis more susceptible to recoil. Since a crossbow is a single-shot weapon, recoil isn’t a big deal.
Theexplosive bolts will offer more tactical range. If an enemy is behind cover, you can shoot an explosive round next to them. It’s quicker and more accurate than lobbing a lethal explosive.
Of course, you’re able to still get one-shot kills with headshots or well-placed shots. However, if you don’t sink a one-shot kill, the explosive takes a second or two to detonate, leaving the enemy time to react before their fiery death. So, keep that in mind.
Birdseye
TheBasePerks and the Bonus Perk will remain the sameas the Maximum Accuracy Build. These are simply the most beneficial perks in conjunction with the crossbow.
It’s important to move fast, have an advantage over where the enemy is located, and be quick with reloads.
However, the ultimate perk for the tactical build should employBirdseye, which gives players more intel on enemy positionswhen using UAVs and other radar advantages.
Once activated, you see a red blip where the enemy is located with a UAV and the direction they’re facing.
Theshock stickis a great tool tostun enemies, giving you a little more leeway in making your shot countwith the crossbow.
Themolotovis great for burning enemies alive behind cover. But it works even better as a strategic tool.
It works well in flushing out enemies from cover or deterring an enemy from walking through a certain entryway or taking a specific path.
With a crossbow, you’re not just in a skirmish; you’re hunting. And you’ve got to be strategic in corralling your prey.
We’ve made thesecondary weapon optional as this is all about your comfort. You needsomething you are comfortable switching to in a pinch, given that the crossbow has a lengthy reload.
And while we haven’t previously made suggestions regarding killstreaks,the UAV is a quick, easy, and advantageous killstreak to have alongside the Birdseye perk.
There’s no sense in using Birdseye if you aren’t going to maximize it to the fullest extent.
