Not every card inMarvel Snapcan be played on its own and be useful. For Hit-Monkey, playing other cards is the way of the game for him. If you have a stack to play, then you can unleash a lot of power in a single turn.

On the surface, Hit-Monkey can be a miss in location domination. It is all about the right combos and knowing when is a good time to send him out on a hit. With the right cards, you’re able to turn him into a deadly assassin to help secure a location, whether it is early on or on a later turn.
Updated July 23, 2025:We’ve updated our list of the best cards to use if you’re building a deck around Hit-Monkey in Marvel Snap to include our very own video guide on the subject. We go over each of our picks and visually showcase how to best use them.

10Hit-Monkey
Understanding the two-cost, zero-powered card is quite simple because with each card you play that turn, he gains two power. While some On Reveal cards need you to be mindful of the order in which you play cards, Hit-Monkey doesn’t care if a card is faced up or down; he is locked and loaded regardless.
Cards that have synergy with powering up others are a great thing to have on hand. If you don’t have much to play, you’re able to use Blue Marvel to power up Hit-Monkey.

Lower-costing cardswill also do you well, as you can build up a combo of smaller heroes and villains to strengthen the monkey.
9Sera
Cost is everything for Hit-Monkey. Sera is one of the most valuable cards in Marvel Snap, regardless of your build, as no matter what you plan on playing, the cheaper cost is always welcome. Reduce the cost of something cost two or three, making that a one and two, then you have more options when you play Hit-Monkey that turn.
Sera can also boost your ability to play something stronger. By making Hit-Monkey cost less, you have five more energy to play something more useful like Red Skull or Hulk in case Hit-Monkey won’t be enough for that final turn.

8Mysterio
Why play one card when you get three in one? Hit-Monkey gains a lot from Mysterio as hit false identities act as two other cards being played, bumping Hit-Monkey up by six instead of two. The two greatly complement one another, especially if you have something else on the board, like Bishop.

Mysterio trips up the opponent as they don’t know which is the real four-powered card. It is not much, but anything to put you over the edge to victory is worth it. By knowing the real one, you can add cards to that location, like having Angela before Mysterio or throwing a Carnage to eat a spare Mysterio.
7Beast
One of the best ways to utilize Hit-Monkey is Beast. By sending him back, you maintain the power you gained and then have another go while having the monkey be cheaper. Send him back with Ant-Man or Captain America, and you will have a chance toutilize both Ant-Manand Hit-Monkey with a boost from the Captain.
Hit-Monkey has plenty of room tocurate the deckto your tastes, but Beast is almost essential by giving you a second chance. By getting a send chance, you can use Mysterio or Angela with that cheaper Hit-Monkey to get multiple punches in a single round.

6Bishop
Bishop has the same quality as Hit-Monkey: they both love lower-costing cards. Throw in some one-costing or two-costing cards, and Bishop will be gaining power and will go from a puny card to a dominating force.
Overwhelm the field to give him juice while maintaining power elsewhere; then, you will be dominating the field.

Bishop also loves Beast, as you can replay cards cheaper to give him another boost in power. Keeping up that energy of cards being played turn after turn is what makes Bishop a viable card to hold in your deck.
5Angela
Angela is a card that can only be useful when you place others in her location to give her more power.
For simplicity, you can place higher-powered cards to support her, and you will likely own that location. She-Hulk can be cheapened for earlier power and Darkhawk can maintain serious firepower.

She pairs well with Hit-Monkey and other companions for similar results. Place one card of your choosing, Hit-Monkey, and Beast, then Angela and Hit-Monkey will gain power and have another opportunity when you play them again for more power.
4Zabu
By how many cost-four cards Marvel Snap offers, making them cheaper is beneficial if you are carrying a handful. Zabu will make those cards cheaper, upping your ability to buff Hit-Monkey as you play Darkhawk to hold down a location or White Queen to give you an extra card.

Zabu matches well with other cards that make good combos for Hit-Monkey. By making cost-four cards more affordable, you may throw in Beast to make Hit-Monkey and other cards on that location less costly, upping your chances for more cards to play next turn.
3Moon Girl
You may think of Moon Girl as the one to duplicate powerful cards like Devil Dinosaur and others, but she can help the little ones. Why play one Hit-Monkey when you may play two, letting them play off one another and anything else played on the turn?
Combine Moon Girl with Quinjet; then, you have extra chances of using the same cards while costing less energy. By having the right cards in your hand, you can double up on cards' abilities to make powerful moves on taking control locations, making it frustrating for your opponent to turn the tides.

2Falcon
Returning cards for Beast is beneficial, but it is restrictive to one location. If you hold multiple one-cost cards, Falcon returns them all to your hand. Overwhelming locations with Ant-Man, Korg, and Iceman can show how when united, they can be mighty.
The strategy of throwing one-cost cards works well with Hit-Monkey. It is the easiest way to power him up. you may redo abilities like Rocket, rethrow in cards in the same location as Angela to give her more power, and get cards back on the field to power Hit-Monkey.

1Bast
Some cards have powerful abilities but not the starting power needed. Bast gives cards a head start by putting their power at three. While it can be detrimental if you hold anything power as you don’t want to dumb down She-Hulk, when played right, you can get Bishop, Hit-Monkey, and others toward a power that rivals Thanos.
Bast pairs well with plenty of cards. you may make Hood go from negative two to positive three or get The Collector a head start before you start powering him up. In a game where victory can mean a single-point difference, you should take any advantage you can get.
