As you rush across the internet deleting all the viruses you can in theMega Man Battle Network Legacy Collection, you’ll want to have the best weapons for the job. Since there are hundreds of battle chips to try out across the series, you may be wondering which of them could be said to be the best of the best.

What makes one chip truly excellent will come down to a lot of factors including playstyles, style changes, double souls, and so on. Regardless, there are a ton of powerful chips that can turn the tide of your next big net navi battle in an instant.

10Roll - Mega Man Battle Network 1-6

Fans of the series may take issue with this chip’s inclusion, but they need to stop acting like we don’t all love it.The white-mage-like Roll chipin its various forms throughout the series will likely be in your folder in each game at some point, if not the entire time.

It’s a simple attack chip that targets the nearest available enemy and dishes out some decent damage. At the same time, the chip will heal you for varying amounts depending on the form. It’s a great offensive and restorative option for the price of one chip.

9Dark Chips - Mega Man Battle Network 4-5

While you will probably avoid ever using any Dark Chips throughout thelater entries of the Mega Man Battle Network series, they are game changers. The various chips are capable of dealing hundreds of damage in a single use.

You can also get a chip that immediately heals you for 1,000 health, a number you probably won’t even reach throughout your first playthroughs. These chips do have various drawbacks and requirements to activate them, but when deletion is the only other option, you might end up trying them out.

8FoldrBak - Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue Version

When people talk about their favorite chips in the series, you’ll end up hearing a lot about the somewhat overrated FoldrBak chip. It does exactly what the name suggests, when you use the chip, you get access to your entire folder of chips again.

The reason this chip is so immensely powerful is purely because it gives you access to powerful chips you’ve already used. It also lets you get back chips that will let you unleash a barrage of synergized attacks at your foes.

7GunSolEX - Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon/Red Sun

This chip seems to be underrated but it can be an absolute game-changer for you. You have to hold the attack button to unleash a wave of heavily damaging light on enemies.

That may not sound all that special, but it has the potential to drain hundreds of points of health in just a few seconds. If you recognize a boss pattern, use the chip, and get lucky with enemy movement, you candestroy a massive bosswith a single move and little resistance.

6OmegaRkt - Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel

Actually getting access to the OmegaRkt chip is a bit of a pain, but it is a worthy reward for the players willing to go the extra mile to obtain it. After getting the many mega chips and advances in the game, you’ll be able to gain this powerful attack.

Essentially,a giant rocket launches into the fieldand smashes into your foes. It can deal a base of 270 damage, but it can double if the rocket connects with your foes. The simple attack can engulf much of your opponent’s battlefield, meaning it’s always useful.

5DeltaRay - Mega Man Battle Network 3-6

An argument could be made for DeltaRay being the absolute best chip in the series purely because of how cool it is to use. This special attack comes courtesy of ProtoMan, and the damaging slashes that he unleashes dominate your foes.

It really is quite simple thanks to it being a navi-based chip, so you don’t even need to aim. ProtoMan simply drops in and slashes the opponent three times from varying angles, though in most instances those angles really won’t matter much. It’s just one of those chips everyone wanted as a kid because of how cool ProtoMan is.

4Duo - Mega Man Battle Network 4: Blue Moon/Red Sun

This is an incredibly simplistic chip, but it is one that absolutely works wonders. The chip essentially rains down fists that deal 200 damage onto your foe’s field at seemingly random. Those fists have the potential to crack panels as well.

This means that the chip can dish out massive damage while also setting up your opponent’s field to limit their movement. Of course, that’s even if the enemies manage to survive the initial barrage of brutal metallic fists that will be coming their way.

3DethPhnx - Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Protoman

The attack itself isn’t really the most powerful thing in the world, but it is still incredibly useful and damaging. It’s that effect that makes it truly noteworthy, especially for players who love to balance out their folders to be as synergistic as possible.

2ChaosLrd - Mega Man Battle Network 5: Team Colonel/Team Protoman

The ChaosLrd chip is another one that you can get right from the start of Mega Man Battle Network 5, meaning you can turn much of the game into a simple jog. It is a giga chip, which can limit your options depending on when you have access to it, but the chip is pretty much always useful to fall back on anyway.

The simple 500-damage chip will have no issue absolutely tearing through the health of most standard enemies you come across. Realistically, the attack won’t have a problem one-shotting many of the bosses in the game, especially in the early game.

1BassGS - Mega Man Battle Network 3: Blue Version/White Version

One of the best chips also happens to be found in arguably the best game in the series, one that features a shady organization. Thanks to the Legacy Collection, you can experience the power of the secret BassGS chip. This incredible attack deals a massive 700 damage and demolishes the enemy field.

It’s basically an instant-win chip against a majority of the game’s enemies as long as you hit them with the attack. Having access to the chip right from the start of the game might trivialize things a bit, but feeling like a net god might not be a bad thing either.
