This enormous bedframe of death that serves only to protect its sister, Delilah, has plenty of options to work with, making them a formidable opponent that can apply tons of pressure and deal significant damage. Never underestimate a sentient bedframe, especially one equipped with deadly contraptions.
Error Follow-Ups
One of the more unique aspects ofBedman?in Guilty Gear Strive is itserror follow-ups,whichhappen automaticallyafter you perform certainSpecial Attacks.
For example, performing Bedman?‘sfireball action, call 4BA(236P), will have itlaunch a spike forwardthat travels the length of the screen. Pretty standard for a projectile, right?

However, in Bedman?’s case,a second projectile will follow shortly afterand have different properties. This action is known aserror 6E,alightning bolt with tracking capabilities, opening the door for extending combos, applying pressure, and much more.
More Follow-Ups!
But wait, there’s more! Much more! In addition to Bedman?’s projectile, they also have access to call4B3 and call 4B9,which aretwo other Special Attackswith similar follow-up attacks.
Unlike the projectile, theaction following these Special Attacksup consists ofBedman?’s head popping off its body before explodingafter traveling a very short distance. When used correctly, this will enable you to set up devastating combos and apply tons of pressure on your opponent.

Even More Follow-Ups!
If you thought that was it for Bedman?’s whacky follow-up tech, think again, as there aretwo more crucial aspects to thisthat will help elevate Bedman? to new heights when appropriately used during combo routes, block strings, or to simply keep pressure on your opponent.
Due to the names of these moves being rather absurd,we will call them by their notations, which will be much easier to follow and comprehend, as214Pis much more eligible than whatever call0x$0.20is (that’s the move’s actual name by the way).

Anyways, Bedman?‘s214P and 214Kserve an important role inmanaging your error follow-upactions.214Pwill have yourerror follow-up action activate immediately,and214Kwillreset the timer on the follow-upaction.
Not only can youinstantly perform your follow-up actionsto keep an attack going or to take your turn back, butyou can also delay itto throw your opponent off, apply pressure, or create enough space to have it land after another attack, enabling you to chain attacks together to otherwise was not possible.

Ultimately, this isBedman?’s primary gimmickand will make or break the character depending on how you use it. Being able to delay or instantly activate your error follow-upsopen the door to many options that can keep your opposition on their toes,so use it wisely!
Understanding The Call 13C Overdrive
Speaking of theerror follow-up actions,Bedman?‘scall 13C Overdrivewillgive even more properties to them, giving you access tomassive damage and high-pressureopportunities.
call 13C acts is Bedman?‘sInstall Super, meaningthis Overdrive willapply a temporary buff to Bedman?instead of performing an actual attack. However, this does not mean this action is useless or less useful compared to its other Overdrive. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
call 13C Effects
While there are some minor drawbacks, as you can tell, the vast majority of effects received by activating call 13C are overwhelmingly positive. Theincreased Damage and Defense are immensely strong, and that’s not even covering thechanges to your follow-up actions.
error 6E Type
Projectile
236P
Imbues a spike with lightning magic and sends it at your opponent with tremendous speed, launching them high into the air on contact. It will Crush your opponent’s Guard if blocked and cause a Hard Knockdown via Area Shift.
Explosion
236S, 236HS
Supercharges Bedman’s head before dismounting, enabling it to travel the entire screen length before exploding. The explosion is much bigger and more damaging, allowing it to cause an Area Shift if hit near the corner. An Area Shift will also cause a Hard Knockdown on your opponent.
Unique Movement Options
In addition to Bedman?’s odd attacks and error system, it also has access tounique movement options, giving them a significant edge in battle.
DespiteBedman? not having access to a Double-Jump,it still maintains excellent movement options with decent mobility. This is achieved via Bedman?’s uniqueeight-way Dash, allowing it to quicklydash in any of the four cardinal directions or intercardinal directions after jumping.
Dashing Like A Pro
With the ability toDash in any directionit pleases after jumping, Bedman? becomesextremely dangerous in the air,as it canDash via Down Forwardto land nasty overheads, set up Oki pressure, and much more.
Furthermore, Bedman?‘sability to Dash in any directionallows it toutilize its error follow-up attacks to their fullest, giving you many ways tobait your opponent into unsafe situationsbefore quickly Dashing in an unexpected direction before it activates.
Being able to Dash seemingly anywhere alsoopens the door for many combo routes, which will help you catch an opponent you may have launched or caught mid-air with your projectile.
Overall, this will give you so much potential, especially since Bedman?’s base movement is relatively slow and limited by default. Bedman? is a heavy character, but has more movement than most characters in this category, so be sure to make the most of it!
Pressure King With Gimmicks
When all is said and done,Bedman?might be a tad too gimmicky for some players, but it’s undeniable itcan apply unrelenting amounts of pressureon their opposition.
Whether the pressure comes from itsexcellent eight-way Dash, error follow-ups, or several multi-hitting Normal and Special Attacks,Bedman? can keep its opponent on their toes and with their back against the wall.
Overly gimmicky characters tend to have massive downsides and Bedman?suffers from all the same types of issues the likes of Nagoriyuki, Potemkin, and Goldlewis Dickinson does.
This means that Bedman?will struggle against Happy Chaos, Axl Low, and even Giovannadue to itssheer size and slower movement speed.Does this make those match-ups impossible? Not in the slightest, but you will need to put in more effort to overcome them.
Conclusion
It is still far too early to tell if Bedman? is top-tier, mediocre, or absolutely terrible. Still, our early impressions of them are thatthey are terrifying when it comes to applying pressureand giving your opponent almost no time to think or breathe.
Now, this could be that no one knows how to play against the towering bedframe of death yet, but we feel confident that Bedman?possesses excellent tools- as outlined above -to unleash suffocating amounts of pressure and damage.
Bedman?will struggle against many opponents,as that is the code of the “Bigman” archetype in fighting games, but they have many options at their disposal that can help overcome the typical ailmentsthat plague these types of characters.
Nonetheless, understanding Bedman?’s error follow-up gimmicks and using them to their full potential will ultimately be the best way to get the most out of the characterand shine in combat.
