Battle Spirits Sagais an intriguing dance of strategic defense and well-timed attacks. This card game employs four basic color decks, each with its own unique fighting style that you can put together to roll out infinite combinations of heals and damage.

Stack up on red star tribe dragons to set your enemy’s frontline ablaze, add a choice of white mechas or machine beasts to stand guard, summon the ancient purple undead from beyond the grave to save you at the last moment, and wield the power of yellow to turn spells to your favor.

10Boa-Trictor

Boa-Trictor is the most useful blocking counter introduced in the dawn of history deck, and arguably the base of many other blocking counters that hold a similar mechanism.

Available early on in the game at the cheap cost of three cores and two reductions, Boa-Trictor destroys any enemy spirit that dares to block your attacks at the end of the turn.

9Pegacyone

Pegacyone is a white card with wild utility. Completely armored against all card types of both the deadly red and purple decks, Pegacyone packs one beast of an LV3 punch, dealing 7K damage at just three cores and one reduction.

If you deem it worthy of a soul core, it also has the unique ability to block all two-cost enemy Spirits, making it equally useful even when it’s exhausted against those players who like building up an army of two-cost cards and ramping them up withone or more Nexus cards.

8Sky Dragonlord Platinum

Sky Dragonlord Platinum is a game-changer, a six cost white cord with three reductions that can reset the whole field and have your enemy wondering what to do next.

By bouncing all 3Kspirit cards off the fieldand into their owners’ hands when summoned, Sky Dragonlord Platinum highlights your enemy’s power to recuperate or face the consequences of a costly delay. It also packs a 9K slam punch at its highest level that can be easily ramped up with the right Nexus card to decimate a high-cost beast.

7Phantasm Archking Zenas

Phantasm Archking Zenas is another one of the mega blocking counters mentioned earlier, destroying all enemies who dodged your attacks during the turn when the battle ends, rendering their defense practically useless against your scheduled destruction.

It also ensures that all of your curse spirits are unblockable by your opponent’s LV1 spirits, immunizing purple-based strategies against unexpected failure and completely neutralizing those popular low-cost attack strategies. The 8K punch can also come in handy if you need to ram a beast off the board.

6Archangel Michaela

You might think of archangels as heavenly creatures of peace and harmony, but in Battle Spirits Saga, they are blood-thirsty angels of death dealing out providential blows of inevitable destruction.

By revealing a card from your deck for every yellow spirit and nexus you control, Archangel Michaela lets you take back all revealed magic cards and return the rest to the bottom of the deck. It also gives you access toany or all magic cardsfrom your hand without having to pay their cost, as long as you can afford it a soul core.

5War Angel Shin, Mindeye Celestial

War Angel Shin, Mindeye Celestial is the eternal queen of second chances. At LV1, it packs Luster, a keyword that allows you to return all magic cards used during the battle from the trash to your hand and use them again next turn.

It is also practically impossible to kill. This immortal warrior of the heavens refreshes once per turn if you use a magic card.

4Armored Dragonship Enterprise

It’s hard to believe this armored defender fights under the white banner because it’s definitely not built for mere defense. Armoring you and all your Spirits against all card types from the white, red, and purple decks, Armored Dragonship Enterprise is your reliable tank when things get heavy.

It also packs a gigantic 12K punch at LV3 without a Nexus buff, and thanks to its ability to refresh once per turn, you’re able to rely on it to hang around and deal serious damage to the enemy lines several times over.

3Supernova Dragon Siegwurm Nova

You better have at least three Spirits on deck before you invite this star dragon down the red carpet, Supernova Dragon Siegwurm Nova comes at the whooping price of eight cores and three reductions. If you can’t afford it, you can always choose to sacrifice a Spirit with six or more cores to play it.

Once out, it’s worth the investment. Not only does it have the ability to heal up to five of your precious lives, but it can also destroy enemy spirits with a combined BP of 10,000 or less. Once it’s done giving back, it rams with the power of 12K or more into an enemy of your choice.

2Grand Underworld Trio Queen Meduke

Grand Underworld Trio Queen Meduke is not only a game-finisher, but it is also the most powerful purple card ever forged. By shifting the position of your opponent’s cores from the reserve to the void, this card practically denies them the power to fight back.

You will never see this queen forgetting her followers either, as she gifts all your curse Spirits with a blood curse ability for LV3, and when it is destroyed, a core from this Spirit and a core from your opponent’s life placed into the trash can keep her on the field refreshed.

1Jurassic King Gigano Rex

Jurassic King Gigano Rex is not only meant to lead, it’s also meant to follow. This helpful Rex lets you count each Terrasaur or Emperor Beast symbol on the field as two. That way, your eight-cost Jurassic King Gigano Rex is ready for battle as soon as you can have three good Spirits out on the field.

It also forces your enemy into a duel with Confront, a red deck keyword that makes it so your opponent has to block this attack first, even if they can’t afford it. To make things worse for them, its LV3 is a 3,000 BP boost to all your other Spirits, a move that can decimate the enemy lineup and win the game.
