Destiny 2’sSeason of Defiance is on its ninth week of challenges, most of which provide a massive chunk of XP or Bright Dust. Most of this week’s challenges involve completing seasonal content, weekly activities, and landing kills with various weapon types. Nothing this week is particularly difficult to complete, but many of these challenges are time-intensive.

In this guide, we’ll cover how to complete all seven challenges tied to the ninth set of Defiance’s Seasonal Challenges. We’ll cover what each challenge requires, the rewards you’re able to expect, and provide tips on how to complete each challenge as quickly as possible.

Legendary Defiance:Complete Defiant battlegrounds on Legend difficulty.

Reward

Legendary Defiance requires you tocomplete two Defiant Battlegrounds on Legend difficulty.you’re able to boot up Legend Defiant Battlegrounds from a unique playlist at the H.E.L.M. Compared to your typical Defiant Battleground, the Legend variant locks your Power level to 1,815 and locks your loadout.

To help offset this, Legend includes both Surges andOvercharge, a new mechanic added this season that buffs certain weapon archetypes. The playlist features one Overcharged weapon archetype, but you can expand this through the seasonal Artifact. Any Anti-Champion perks you selected in your Artifact will grant Overcharge as well. Matchmaking is also disabled, so get a fireteam together before attempting this.

Favored Warrior

Favored Warrior:Earn Favors of Justice, Grace, and Zeal during Season of Defiance activities. Bonus progress awarded for Favors earned during activities on Legend difficulty.

Favored Warrior requires you togenerate 20 of each Favor type in Defiant activities. You can spawn Favors in Defiant Battlegrounds and the Avalon Exotic mission. Favors requirecertain War Table upgradesto be purchased before they can spawn. Once purchased, you’ll want a build with good ability uptime and double Special weapons. For your Heavy, bring a Machine Gun.

Destiny 2 Season of Defiance Armor

You’ll want to farm the Avalon Exotic mission to get this done quickly. The first encounter will spawn an infinite number of Vex enemies that you can mow down to spawn Favors. The Favor types are as follows:

Kill as many enemies as you may, then reload the encounter when your ammo is spent. You can also speed up this farm byequipping season pass armor, as this increases Favor spawn rates.

Defiant Specialist

Defiant Specialist:Defeat combatants with precision final blows in Seasonal activities. Bonus progress awarded for using Season of Defiance weapons.

In Defiant Battlegrounds or the Avalon Exotic mission, land 50 precision final blows.Seasonal weapons earned from Defiant Engrams grant twice as much progress, although 50 precision kills should be trivial for most. Equip your favorite Hand Cannon, Scout Rifle, or Machine Gun for some easy headshots. More than enough enemies spawn in both Defiant Battlegrounds and Avalon, so this should only take a few minutes to complete.

Rewards

This challenge is retroactive.

The Pinnacle Seasonal Challenge requires you toreach the Pinnacle cap of 1,810 Power this season.you’re able to earn Pinnacle rewards by completing Pinnacle Gear weeklies on the Director. Some common sources include the weekly ritual playlist challenges, raid and dungeon clears, and completing seasonal activity weeklies.

Bear in mind thatPower awarded from your Artifact doesnotcount, so you’ll need to reach 1,810 Power solely through your items. For more information on Pinnacle Gear sources and the Power system in general, check out ourPower leveling guide.

Warp And Weft

Warp and Weft:In Gambit, defeat targets with a Strand, Solar, or Void subclass equipped. Bonus progress awarded for ability final blows and defeating Guardians.

Warp and Weft requires you todefeat 200 enemies in Gambit while you have a Strand, Solar, or Void subclass equipped. You just need the subclass equipped to receive credit, although landing ability kills will grant bonus progress. We recommend picking your favorite subclass out of the bunch and using a good add-clearing weapon like Trinity Ghoul or Huckleberry to get this done quickly.

Destiny 2 Berserker Titan Using Strand Super

If you haven’t experimented with builds this season, we recommend using Void. You gain access to Devour, Volatile Rounds, and have some great abilities to choose from across all classes. For some in-depth build guides for all elements, check out our build guides below:

Weaving Sunlight

Weaving Sunlight:Defeat combatants in Vanguard playlists with a Strand, Solar, or Void subclass equipped. Bonus progress awarded for ability final blows.

Similar to Warp and Weft, this challenge requires you todefeat 200 enemies in Vanguard Ops or Nightfalls while using a Strand, Solar, or Void subclass.Kills from any weapon will count, although you’ll get double progress for ability final blows. We find Strand to have good ability uptime in general with the right build, although Void works just as well if you don’t own Lightfall. Strand users should spec for grenade and class ability cooldowns, while Void users should rely on Devour for constant grenade charges.

Destiny 2 Grand Overture

Armory-Wide Calibration

Armory-Wide Calibration:Calibrate Kinetic, Energy, and Power weapons. Bonus progress against Champions.

This might be the easiest 300 Bright Dust challenge this season.Armory-Wide Calibration requires you to land 200 Kinetic, Energy, and Heavy weapon final blows. For clarity, you’ll need 200 kills foreachweapon to finish this challenge, 600 kills in total. That might sound high, but most PvE activities feature 200+ enemies.

We recommend equipping an SMG, Wave-Frame Grenade Launcher, and a Machine Gun.Each weapon type is great for killing adds while maintaining solid ammo efficiency. Use your Machine Gun whenever possible to ensure you’re racking up Heavy weapon kills. Past that, we recommend booting up activities with tons of enemies. Defiant Battlegrounds, the Avalon Exotic mission, Neomuna Lost Sectors, and the Shuro Chi encounter in Last Wish are all fantastic for getting this done quickly.
