Quirks are not entirely unfamiliar to The Sims 4, with fame quirks being a feature of the Get Famous expansion pack. Similar to infant quirks, these quirks were randomly added and affected a famous Sim’s image and behavior. In Get Famous, Sims were allotted up to four quirks, whereas infants will only develop three. In Get Famous, Sims can remove their quirks by buying the Quirk-B-Gone potion from the reward store, but the only way to remove infant quirks is to use cheats. Below is a list of all infant quirks sorted by what need they affect to help you decide which are worth keeping, and which you may want to remove.

6Attention Quirks

There are two quirks that your infant can develop which will alter how they handle affection from their caregiver.Loves being heldmeans your infant will always want to be in their caregiver’s arms and are happy to be carried all around town. They may even become upset if they aren’t being held.

Infants who develop the opposing quirk, hates being held, will quickly become angry if they’re trapped by their caregiver’s embrace for too long. These infants prefer to be on the ground doing things for themselves, and while they love their caregiver, they love their freedom a bit more. Both of these quirks can carry over to your toddler as well.

5Bladder Quirks

If your infant Sim develops thefree-air tinklerquirk, your caregiver Sim should be wary when it comes to changing diapers. These infants will likely use the bathroom mid-changing, catching their caregiver in the crossfire.

Similarly, infants with thefeeding tinklerquirk will use the bathroom while breastfeeding, bottle feeding, or eating in the high chair. These quirks will both greatly lower the infant and caregiver’s hygiene.

4Energy Quirks

There are five quirks that will change the way that your infant Sim sleeps. An infant with theearly riserquirk will often wake up with the sun on their own, feeling refreshed and ready to start their day and wake their caregiver up. Similar to infants with theloves wake-up timequirk, who are happy to be stirred awake by their caregiver, whether it be from a short nap or a long nights sleep. But infants with thehates wake-up timequirk will always start their day angry at their caregiver for waking them up. Both wake-up quirks are also able to develop in toddlers.

Infants with theself-sootherquirk won’t need mobiles or lullabies to help them fall asleep, meaning all your Sim needs to do to have their infant get some rest is place them in their crib or on their play-mat. Infants with thesnuggly sleeperquirk, however, will not be able to sleep unless they are cuddled up in their caregivers arms. The second your Sim puts them down in a crib, those infants will wake up.

3Fun Quirks

Thelittle babblerinfant quirk means that your Sim’s infant has a lot to say. These infants will try to talk to any Sim they can find, even if no one will understand them. Their inclination to social interaction will easily build good relationships with other Sims, and may help them learn to talk a little faster intheir next life stage.

Infants with theloves soundsquirk will seek out the TV, music, or even just other Sims to listen to. If you have a Sim who is more musically inclined, for example, an infant with this quirk would enjoy sitting down and listening to their caregiver play them a song. They may even grow up to make sounds of their own.

2Hunger Quirks

Some infants may be harder to convince when trying baby food, such as infants with thepicky eaterquirk. These infants won’t like most of the things presented to them, meaning your Sim will have to spend some extra time trying every option to find the one their infant does like. And if the infant has thehappy spitterquirk, as well, even if you manage to find a food they like they might end up spitting it right back up and lowering their hygiene.

Infants with thegood appetitequirk, though, will eat just about anything and be quite happy to do it. The picky eater and good appetite quirks are also toddler quirks.

1Hygiene Quirks

If you manage to get your infant Sim to finally finish their baby food, you may have a lot to clean up after if they have themessy eaterquirk. These infants will get food anywhere but their mouth, and often your Sim will need to bathe their infants and themselves after mealtime. When your infant ages up into a toddler, they can also have the messy eater quirk.

Infants with thefrequently hiccupsquirk are more inclined to become gassy, which will cause diaper changes to be more frequent. But not as frequent as infants with thegassyquirk, who just skip the hiccup stage. And infants with thefrequently sneezesquirk don’t know yet that they should cover their mouths, so they will end up spreading germs throughout the household and increase the chance that other Sims will become sick.
