These abilities, known asAfterimages,will be your key to success in exploration and battle.
All Afterimage Locations
Overall, you’re able to obtain a whopping32 Afterimages,ranging frompassive abilities to the more crucial ones.The ones we will focus on today are what we classify as the ‘Core Afterimages,’ or the ones needed to traverse the world of Engardin.
These Afterimages are located in thering-like menu above the Passive Afterimagesand are the ones that offer things such asDouble-Jumping, Dashing, Wall-Climbing, etc.

All Core Afterimages
Emblem Of Windwalker
Allows you toDashwhilegrounded or airborne,enabling you to clear large gaps or reach far-away areas.TheEmblem of Windwalkeris obtained bydefeatingtheLamellar Warriorin theRainbow Plains zoneand will be thefirst Afterimageyou acquire.
you may find the Lamellar Warrior bynavigating eastward from the first Confluenceyou can rest at in the Rainbow Plains zone. From there, you will see araised drawbridge, drop down into the area beneath it,andcontinue descendinguntil you reach the bottom.

From here,head west until the Lamellar Warrior greets you in their arena.Defeat this boss to obtain the Afterimage, allowing you to pass over the raised drawbridge from earlier!
Wandering Warrior’s Necklace
Grants you the ability toSlide when crouching,allowing you topass through tight spacesto reach new areas. This Afterimage can be found extremely early and is located in theResting Pathzone.
To obtain theWandering Warrior’s Necklace Afterimage,head to theConfluencenear thesoutheastof the zone, thenhead northeastfrom it andtake the liftto the area above. Once there,navigate westuntil you are suddenly locked into anarena.

Defeat the wave of Prismbone Punishers and Archersto acquire the Wandering Warrior’s Necklace. Note that this encounter can be challenging due to how early you can access it, so if you find yourself struggling here, it may be wise to return later!
Windwalker’s Anklet
Unlocks the ability toperform a Divekick on specific objectsand monsters,which will grant you the ability toperform another Divekick while also giving you the option to Dash beforedoing so, unlocking tons of potential for movement and exploration.
Despite being able to obtain theWindwalker’s Ankletrelatively early on, youwill not be able to use it until you acquire the Left-wing Feather of Windwalker Afterimage.You can only be performed after youDouble-Jump.

However, how you obtain the Windwalker’s Anklet Afterimage is the most straightforward and effortless of the bunch. Upon reachingResting Town,this Afterimage ispurchasablefromAlice, the Conjurer,for1,377 Dew.
If you have enough Dew on hand,we suggest purchasing this as soon as possible,as it will come in handy the moment you get your hands on the Left-wing Feather of Windwalker Afterimage!

Left-wing Feather Of Windwalker
As the entry above covers, theLeft-wing Feather of Windwalker Afterimageallows you toDouble-Jump,enabling you toreach greater heights and new areas,especially when chained together with a Dash or Divekick.
Getting your hands on this Afterimage requires you to make it to theEmerald Falls zoneanddefeat Loss, the Galefeather,one of the more challenging bosses you will face early on in your journey.

Loss can be found byheading eastward from the zone’s first Confluence,then headingnorth until you reach the highest platformyou can currently get to. From there,head eastuntil you meet Loss, the Galefeather.
After defeating Loss,exit from the east side of his arena,thendescend to the bottom of the area.Here, you willfind the Afterimage on the groundand can speak to theBlacksmithfound directly to the right of it!

Clammy Whistle
One of the more unique Afterimages in the game is theClammy Whistle,which allows you touse it in specific locations to summon a large Manta Ray-like creature,giving you access tonavigate the oceansandreach new areas.
To get the Clammy Whistle, you must firstdefeat Auss, the Lunatic Mastermage,residing in theTown of the Exiled region.To reach them, you mustnavigate north from the centermost Confluenceof the zone.

They arelocated near the center in the northernmost portionof the zone. To find them easily,head east from the Confluence,thennavigate up the screenuntil you can no longer do so. From there,head west, then north once moreuntil you find Auss!
Flower Of Confluence
Another unique Afterimage is theFlower of Confluence,which isobtainable via the Clammy Whistlewe covered just above this one. To use the Clammy Whistle, you must firstreach a specific spot,so let’s go over where that exactly is and how to get to it.
Fromwhere you defeated Auss,head east and continue in that directionuntil you reach theAshen Canyonzone (which may be displayed as a bunch of random symbols when you first enter the area).

Once there,continue eastward until you reach a dockandwalk to the endof it to see agolden Manta Ray-like creaturein the water in front of the pier.Interact with the creatureby pressingup on the Left Analog Stick.
This will kick you out to anoverworld map,allowing you tonavigate the waters with the Manta Ray.When on this screen,sail to the island all way in the southmost portionof the area, justbeyond the wrecked ships.

Whenon the island, navigate to the westto find theFlower of Confluence Afterimageon the ground. This Afterimage willgrant you the ability to Fast-Travel between the Main Confluenceswithout needing to use Resting Potions.
Agile Claw
Next up is theAgile Claw Afterimage,which allows you tocling to walls and leap off of them,allowing you toWall-Jumpand reach new areas.
For this Afterimage, you mustdefeat the Failure bossin thesoutheast portionof theWhispering Forest zone.There aren’t many Confluences here, so you must descend the area using your Afterimages to reach this boss.
After defeating the Failure,take theexit to the east and continue in that directionuntil you find theAgile Claw Afterimage on the floorin front of a wall!
Plate Of Kingworm
ThePlate of Kingwormis another excellent Afterimage, as it allows you todive downward with tremendous force, smashing through weak barrierson the ground. Like most Afterimages, you must defeat a boss before obtaining it.
This boss isXenal Watcher, the Conjoined,located in theForest Foregonezone,northwest of the eastmost Confluence.You will have touse your Agile Claws to reach the topof the area. Just head for thetop center of the zone,and you will find the boss.
After defeating them,head westto find the Plate of Kingworm on the ground on top of a breakable barrier, which you can then use your newly acquired Afterimage on!
Eye Of Gongor
Following that Afterimage, the next one you will likely acquire after is theEye of Gongor,an Afterimage thatgrants you the ability to cure Petrified Targets and Objects,giving you access to new areas and Quests.
Getting the Eye of Gongor requires you totake down Gongor, the Eldritch Fusionboss in theWhispering Forest zone.You can find themnear the center of the areajustnortheast of the first Confluencein the zone!
Blessing Of Samsare
TheBlessing of Samsareis one of the more essential Afterimages as itenables you to breathe underwater,giving you access to many previously blocked areas.
To obtain this Afterimage, you mustspeak with Samsare, the Goliath of Hydro,in theField of Hydrojust beyond the Silent Coast and Misty Waters zones. After speaking with them, you will receive the Afterimage.
Due to this beingpart of the story and main path,you will naturally come across this area and moment as you follow the Main Quest, so don’t sweat it if you aren’t near this zone yet!
Crimson Cape
Throughout your journey, you likely encounteredred or yellow beams of light blocking entrancewaysinto rooms or other areas. While youcan’t pass through them normally,youcan Dash through themvia theCrimson Cape Afterimage,making it one of the best in the game.
However, before you can get your hands on this Afterimage, you must firstdefeat Reaping Scythe, the Crimson Hollow,found in theGoliathfall zonejustbefore you reach the exit on the far left sideof the area. Take them down to obtain the Crimson Cape!
Right-wing Feather Of Windwalker
One of the best movement-based Afterimages is theRight-wing Feather of Windwalkerdue to its ability to grant you the option toTriple-Jump,giving you much greater height than ever before.
This Afterimage is acquired upondefeating Loss, the Broken Wings,in theHeart of Veins.you’re able to locate Loss byheading to the southwest exit of the area.There’s onlyone Confluence in the zone,so follow the path that will take you back to Rainbow Falls to run into them!
