The Legend Of Zelda: Breath Of The Wildis a huge game with a lot to find and encounter. Among all your main quests, one of the more lore-enriching is the Capture Memories quest. You receive images depicting specific locations that contain memories of the past shared between Link and Zelda.

Breath Of The Wild Captured Memories Gallery

These memories will help Link remember what happened regarding events prior to the calamity. Some of the locations are distinct, while others are vaguer, and here is how to find each one of these lost memories to aid the story.

Finding The Captured Memories

Although it’s labeled as a main quest, Captured Memories is not necessary to fight and defeat Calamity Ganon.

However, it’s highly encouraged that you collect them asthey will give you insight into Link’s relationship with Zelda and the other Champions of Hyrule. Impa grants this quest and tasks you withfinding 12 memories in 12 different locations.

Breath Of The Wild Map With Memory Markers

After you find the first one and talk to Impa, you’ll get the Champion’s Tunic as a reward. Gathering all 12 triggers an event when Impa reveals one final memory for you to find.

Once you receive this request,you can complete it as long as you can reach all the locations. In-game, talking to the Stablehand Pikango at different Stables can identify the locations by name.

Captured Memories Locations

In the Overworld, Captured Memories appear as circular auras of light on the ground.All you need to do is guide Link to the circle and trigger the cutscene. This counts as collecting the memory.

Here are all the different locations that can be visited in any order.

Blades Of The Yiga

On the road toGerudo Town,you’ll pass by an Oasis with some market stalls. This isKara Kara Bazaar,and the memory is located where the photo depicts: A clear spot on the edge of the water that allows the full view of the top-heavy rock structureshowing the side with the green banner.

Despair

This is the hardest memory to find due to the vagueness of the photo. First,head to the Bottomless Swamp. Directly to the northeast of it is a densely wooded area alongside a river.

Head towards itto find a path that cuts through the trees. Run along it to find the memory near its center.

Father And Daughter

You should use extreme caution when getting this memory since Hyrule Castle is crawling with enemies and danger.Put on some protective gear and stock up on healing itemsbefore going to the castle.

Pulling up the castle map, you’re looking foran outside stone bridge near where the base of the main castle building lies. Search around the edge of the plateau to find the bridge and the memory.

To Mount Lanaryu

A very distinct photo showing a horse statue, this memory is in a place known as theSanidin Park Ruins.It’salong a road to the right of Satori Mountainleading to Jeddo Bridge.

The park is onthe right side of the road and looks almost like a horseshoe. The memory will be in front of the horse statue.

A Premonition

Use Woodland Stable, which is next to Pico Pond southeast of the Lost Woods,as a starting point.

Gonortheasttowards the point that is jutting out from Goronbi River, right above where Goronbi Lake is situated. There will bea small peak in front of it overlooking the ruinsin the photo where the memory is waiting.

Resolve And Grief

Head to Lake Kolomo which is a bit northwest of Lake Hylia. Alongthe southwest coast of the lake, with water on both sides, are the Garrison Ruins. Go northwest of the ruins andacross the laketo find the view in the photo and the memory nearby.

Return Of Calamity Ganon

Another pretty distinct picture shows theEast Gate of Lanaryu Road. Thisis immediately to the east of Kakariko Village,past a body of water that looks like a T.

Follow the waterto the end of the east tipto find a road and the memory leading up to the Gate.

Silent Princess

Follow along the west coast of the water surrounding the Hyrule Castle area. You’ll come acrossscattered ruins arranged in a vague square; theseare the Ancient Lab Ruins.

Go northwest continuing along the coastuntil you’re northeast of Hyrule Castle Island. This is where you may collect the memory.

Shelter From The Storm

Immediately to the northeast of Lake Hylia is Deya Lake, with the remains of Deya Village within it.Between this village and the Hylia Riveris a hill with a lone tree at the top. The memory is next to it.

Slumbering Power

You’ll need to go to the northeast end of the map for this memory. The Spring Of Power can be foundoff the path leading to the lookout point near North Akkala Beach.

Specifically, it’s located between North Akkala Valley and Ordorac Valley andappears as a structure with water on the map. Go there to get the memory at the top of the steps.

Subdued Ceremony

You can find this memory near the start of the game,specifically in the ruins in front of the Hyrule Castle area.

They’re easily identifiable on the map asa circular wooded area with arranged bodies of waterat the center. Head to the middle of these ruins to find the memory.

Zelda’s Resentment

To find this memory,you need to head across the Tabantha Great Bridge, going west. Once you cross, turn your attention to the mountain to your left. Climb up itto find some ruins, a Shrine, and the memory.

Zelda’s Awakening

The final memory is revealed by Impa in a picture that depicts an area known as Ash Swamp. The swamp islocated south of Kakariko Bridge and is identifiable by all the deactivated Guardianslying around.

The memory is locatedbetween the two bodies of water on the right side of the swamp.
