The iconic GM Mode from the Smackdown Vs. Raw series made its long-awaited return as MyGM in WWE 2K22. It also serves as a mode inWWE 2K23. The basis of it is the same as week-by-week you attempt to outdo the other brands by putting on the most exciting show possible.

The overall goal is to prove that you’re the best GM and make your brand the most dominant in the company. 2K23 makes a few alterations to the mode, which means the overall experience is a bit different from the one in WWE 2K22. Yet, regardless of your experience with its predecessor, the following tips can help you succeed in 2K23’s MyGM.

Shortly after the title was released, we created this guide to give you several tips about succeeding in the mode. Now that we’ve had a bit more time with the game, we’ve come up with some extra tips to share. So, we’ve included them in this update.
Don’t Overlook Promo Skill When Drafting
On the draft screen, you get to see all sorts of information about each wrestler. Their popularity, stamina, star power, face/heel alignment, and cost are all fully displayed. And you should pay attention to all of this info.
But you should also check out your potential signees' promo skills. That is not on the draft screen, but you cango into ‘superstar info’to check theirpromo rating out of five.While not every member of your roster needs to be a master on the mic, you doneed several decent ones to have some successful promoson your show.
There’s a button prompt at the bottom of the screen that takes you to superstar info.
Don’t Ignore Free Agents Or Legends
During the draft, youdon’t have the finances to draft an incredibly deep roster.At best, you’re able to probably get 10 or 12 people while still having a bit left over to actually run your show. However, you’renot just stuck with that group of wrestlersfor the whole season.
There are alwaysfree agents and legends you can pick up from the Manage Roster tabwhen you have a bit more money.If you have gaps on your rosteror you need someone to wrestle a certain star you already have, they’re good options. Most of them have short-term contracts, which shouldn’t turn you off. You can bring them in, use them for a bit, and let them go.
Keep Your Talent Happy
Throughout your time as GM,the individual morale of your wrestlers will shift regulary.If they’re always competing on your show and getting wins, they will probably be happy. Yet, if they’re left in the dark too often, they may get upset.
Their morale will also beimpacted by their interactions with you.They will sometimes request things, and you can either accept or reject them. Naturally,if you agree to their request, they will receive a boost in morale. However, it will alsocount as a promise, which, if you break, will significantly lower their morale.You generally want tokeep everyone happy- particularly your big stars - as those with really low morale may jump ship to another brand without much warning.
Rest People And Continue Building Their Rivalries Using Call-Out Promos
Nobody has the stamina to wrestle every single week.Everybody needs a rest from time to timeto avoid injury. Unfortunately, though, an absent superstar can’t contribute to the program. But there is a trick to make use of a star and still have them regain as much stamina as they would if they were not on the show.
Simply have somebody call them out. Like any promo, a call-out recovers some of the talker’s stamina. What’s really interesting, though, is thatthe person getting called out recovers more. In fact,the game treats them as if they missed the showentirely.
Check The Power Card Store Every Week
In thePower Card tab, you can find your cards as well as a store selling three more. Every week,the store gets new stock and removes the others. You shouldget in the habit of checking itevery time in case a few gems are available to purchase.
Cards that boost certain match types, recover stamina, or increase your fanbase are typically worth grabbing. And take note thatbuying a card doesn’t mean you have to use it right away. So, it’s smart tobuy good ones when they’re availableeven if you don’t need them yet - as long as you have the money.

Get Specialists But Don’t Completely Rely On Them
Wrestler classes are extremely important in MyGM. To havea good match card, you must have the right types of superstars facing one another.So, you want fighters versus bruisers and giants against cruisers.Theadvantage of specialists is that they can have a decent match with anyone. So, you certainly wanta few of them on the roster, as it allows you more flexibility when putting shows together.
However, youdon’t want half your roster to be specialists.This is because while they can put on good matches with any other class, theydon’t get the same boost for specific pair-ups.For example, a specialist won’t generally have as good of a match with a cruiser as a giant would, nor can they put on the same level of a show with bruisers as fighters are capable of doing.
Invest In Show Logistics
The quality of matches on your card isn’t the only thing that defines how good your show is. The logistics found in the aptly namedShow Logistics tabare also important. Having a big arena, great crew, wonderful special effects, and strong advertising cansignificantly boost your fans and finances.However, you don’t have them all available straight away.
Firstly, youneed to unlock them, which naturally happens over time. Then you need to makea one-time purchase to buy them.And finally, you need to spend money tobook them for each individual show.So, it’s quite an expensive endeavor. But it’sworth sinking money into these thingsas long as you still have the funds to put a strong card together.
Have Varied Match Cards
Fans in MyGM appreciate a varied show.Thus, you should keep that in mind when putting a card together. Make sureboth male and female talents get some representation.Plus, have amix of different matches, from singles to tag teams to triple threats to fatal-4-ways. They don’t all need to feature on every show, but at leasttwo different types on each card would be good.
On top of that, you cansprinkle a few gimmick matches in, such as tables and extreme rules. Just make sure your talents’ stamina isn’t too low when putting them in the more dangerous matches as they have more chance of getting injured.

Don’t Leave Titles Vacant
When you finish doing the draft, you get to select your main men’s and women’s champions. Yet, there aremore than two titles for each brand.You also havewomen’s tag championships, men’s tag championships, and another men’s single title.
You can’t just hand these to wrestlers, though. You have tohave matches for the belts, which you should do as soon as possible. After all,anyone who holds a championship gets an increase in popularity.By leaving the titles vacant, you’re letting that boost go to waste.
Open And Close With Your Best Matches
At the end of your first show, the game will let you know aboutthe drama curve.This essentially meanshow well your show flowed from start to finish. Don’t overlook this aspect of the game.Shows that start and finish strong get a big boost.In fact,having your best match in the middle of the card is a waste, while weak matches sandwiched in-between great ones can negate their negatives.
So, when putting a card together,try to anticipate what your two best matches will be.To do so, consider the following things:

Save Level Four Rivalry Matches For PLEs
Every rivalry starts at level one and is capable of increasing in levelsthrough subsequent weeks. Thehighest it can go is level four. When this happens, though, you must be careful, asfans will be close to getting boredof the feud.
So, when a rivalry hits the fourth level, you want tosave the next match for a Premium Live Event (PLE).At a PLE,a level-four rivalry match is almost guaranteed to get a great ratingand serve as a perfect end to the conflict. There’s no need to turn away viewers by boring them with the rivalry before then.
Use Submissions Matches To End Rivalries Instantly
Occasionally during MyGM, you getstuck with a rivalry you don’t want.Perhaps, you had a fatal-4-way to get multiple people on a card, and two of them began feuding in the aftermath, or you may just have a rivalry going on longer than you want.
Unfortunately, rivalries generally only come to a conclusive end on a PLE when they’ve reached the required level. Yet, you may end them any time you want using submission matches.When two rivals compete in a submission match, itautomatically resolves their feud.The show it happens on doesn’t matter, nor does the level of the rivalry.
Aim For Hall Of Fame Trophies
Accumulating the most fans is the most common way of putting yourself atop the opposing GMs. However, another way tobeat them is through Hall Of Fame trophies.Over a season, you have severaldifferent challenges to complete, from booking a certain match type a set number of times to fulfilling promises to your talent - you cansee what they are in the Season tab.
Completing a bunch of them will earn you Hall Of Fame trophies.While you shouldn’t run your brand with the sole thought of completing challenges, you should keep them in mind.
