Dominaria is the one place thatMagic: The Gatheringcan’t resist returning to. As one of the oldest and largest planes in the Multiverse, there’s tons of inspiration to pull from when designing cards for a set from this place.

In Dominaria United, we get a look into how the people of Dominaria react to the surprise return of the Phyrexians, an invasion starting with the silent conversion of people into sleeper agents. Dominaria United brought several Standard and Commander staples to the game, making several cards valuable to players.

10Ajani, Sleeper Agent (376) - $9.39

One of the most tragic planeswalkers to get Compleated by New Phyrexia, the once proud and noble leonin has been transformed into Ajani, Sleeper Agent. This planeswalker helps refill your hand by filtering through the top card of your library, searching for creatures or planeswalkers to put in your hand.

Once you hit six loyalty counters on Ajani, you can pop it to get an emblem that gives an opponent two poison counters every time you cast a creature or planeswalker. Those counters will add up quickly, especially in a poison-themed Commander deck under the watchful eye of Atraxa, Praetors' Voice.

9Plaza Of Heroes (Extended Art) - $9.86

Another card that quickly became a Commander all-star, Plaza of Heroes helps cast your commander and other legendary creatures while also doubling as a way to protect them in a pinch.

Plaza of Heroes can either add any mana you need to cast legendary spells or be used to add mana so long as it matches the color of a legendary permanent you already control. Plaza of Heroes isn’t restricted to legendary creatures either; you can use it to cast any legendary spell.

8Leyline Binding - $9.81

One of the strongest removal effects in Standard right now, Leyline Binding is a staple in several decks to keep problematic cards off the board. When Leyline Binding comes into play, you get to exile a permanent for as long as Leyline Binding is in play.

Part of what makes Leyline Binding so good is that with Flash, you can hold mana open on your turn to sit back and watch your opponents make whatever plays they want. If you have other ways to deal with what they play, you can use that. But if it resolves, you can just remove it right before your turn.

7Serra Paragon (Extended Art) - $10.83

An extremely impactful creature,Serra Paragon helps keep your boardfull by letting you return cards from your graveyard back to the battlefield once a turn. With Serra Paragon out, you’re able to bring back a land or cast permanents with mana value three or less from your graveyard.

If your Serra Paragon sticks around for a few turns later in the game, you get to recycle creatures your opponent has already dealt with, either forcing them to remove that creature again or waiting to get overwhelmed by your returning forces.

6Leyline Binding (Extended Art) - $12.69

The extended art version of Leyline Binding takes the next spot for most valuable cards from Dominaria United. This fancier rendition of the premier removal spell in Standard helps you show off a little while winning your matches.

Since Leyline Binding has domain, it costs one less colorless mana for each basic land type you control. With Streets of New Capenna still in Standard, and the tri-land cycle that includes all the basic land types, you’re able to easily reduce Leyline Binding’s cost to just one white mana with only

5Liliana Of The Veil (Borderless) - $13.99

The fancier version of Liliana of the Veil is lower on the list in terms of value but that doesn’t make it any less powerful. This three-mana planeswalker rips your opponent’s hand apart, as well as your own, but in exchange, can quickly cut them out of the game.

While rare, hitting Liliana’s final ability will all but guarantee either a concession or a win in the next few turns. Once it resolves, you get to split all your opponent’s permanents into two piles, forcing them to pick which half of their cards they want to keep. All this is after you’ve forced them to discard at least three cards over the past few turns.

4Timeless Lotus - $16.45

Anytime there’s a card with the word Lotus printed in its name, it’s almost always worth a second look. And in Dominaria United, that remains true with Timeless Lotus.

When it was first released, Timeless Lotus was floating around $20, dipping a fair amount once plenty of product was opened, and copies began making their way into players' hands. Since then, as cards and packs started to get a little scarcer, the price has started to tick back up.

3Liliana Of The Veil - $17.96

First printed in the original Innistrad set, Liliana of the Veil slotted perfectly into several deck archetypes. Everything fromMono-Black to Rakdos Midrangeto Esper Midrange play multiple copies of this card.

Liliana of the Veil is so efficient at keeping your opponents under lockdown that it has consistently seen play in other formats like Legacy, Modern, and Pioneer for as long as they’ve been legal in them. Don’t be surprised if Liliana of the Veil keeps climbing as it rotates out of Standard once again.

2Four Different Sheoldred, The Apocalypse - $62.92 - $79.12

Listing all four versions of Sheoldred, The Apocalypse would push out other great cards from this list, so here they all are at once.Played in just about every deck supporting it in Standard, this Phyrexian Praetor is one of the cheapest and most impactful among the five in this cycle.

The very stylish Phyrexian language version of Sheoldred, the Apocalypse is the lowest-priced entry among the four, followed closely by the basic showcase version. Following it up is the regular Sheoldred, the Apocalypse, with the textured foil taking the top spot.

1SEA Stained Glass Tokens - $86.67 - $128.57

Celebrating the launch of Dominaria United in Southeast Asia, this set of three tokens creates a mural of stained glass tokens. The three tokens are an Angel, Soldier, and a Zombie. These cards are made out of a special material that makes them semi-translucent, enhancing their stained-glass look.

These exclusive tokens were only available in Southeast Asia, which contributes to their rarity and value. Each token has a different way to acquire them, making them highly unique. As they’ve started to make their way around markets, their price will likely remain high as more players attempt to collect them.
