Like A Dragon: Ishinoffers plenty ofover-the-top powerful weapons, from katanas to guns and more. There are two critical types of arms to identify: Special Weapons, and normal weapons, the major difference being thatSpecial Weapons do not offer experience gains.

The tradeoff for this lack of progression is a lot of damage to pack an extra punch and soften the blow of losing out on the experience. From the Gunman to the Wild Dancer and classic Swordsman, there are a variety of styles that can wield the mighty Special Weapons available for you to craft in Like A Dragon: Ishin.

10Tonbokiri

Tonbokiri is an excellent introduction to the world of viciously punishing Special Weapons, serving as a solid base to build your perfect spear. While the 851 Attack is the sole feature of this spear, it can be an excellent blank slate for you to craft if the other options just aren’t doing it for you.

The four open seal augment slots give plenty of versatility if you want to imbue a few different effects into Tonbokiri or if you’d rather stack up on effects that help your Heat. While this is likely going to be the beginning of a long crafting journey to find your ideal Special Weapon, Tonbokiri certainly offers a great starting point.

9Otegine

Otegine is another smart first choice if you’re just starting to dabble in Special Weapons, as this spear opens the door to a myriad of skewering Heat moves. If the variety of short cutscenes this spear provides isn’t enough, the base 920 Attack is nothing to scoff at, as you won’t find many comparable weapons.

Though Otegine only offers three seal augment slots, these should be plenty to make use of the solid starting damage. Consider adding some additional Heat-related seals if you can, but you really can’t go wrong on a blank slate. Try out a variety of seals when crafting to see what works best for you.

8Haja-No-Ontachi

Haja-no-Ontachi is the pinnacle weapon for you if you crave the freedom to build a powerful weapon however you see fit. While some of the prior blank slates offered decent starting points, this odachi has few equals when it comes to base Attack, clocking in at 1,455.

That mammoth Attack stat is near the highest end of the range and the pros to this weapon only increase from there. Damage aside, Haja-no-Ontachi gives you the flexibility to add up to six types of seals to your weapon, allowing for an incredible amount of creativity to use new seal combinations or overload on your tried-and-true favorites.

7Phoenix Cannon

While it’s stilla bit nonsensical to think you can wield a massive cannon alone, the power of the Phoenix Cannon is certainly unquestioned. This is the most powerful of the craftable trio of Cannons that a Gunman will be salivating to get their hands on.

Aside from the excellent 650 damage for a cannon, you also get the extra benefit of a Fire elemental effect on each of your shots, making it perhaps the best effect for a cannon. Very few weapons allow you to deal such incredible damage at a distance, and the Heat scenes are amazing little bits to behold.

6Nihongo

Nihongo is another fantastic spear that pushes the boundaries of damage via Heat moves. With a 1,081 base Attack stat to help its potency, you’ll really notice how clutch this weapon can be when you’re low on health and fighting for your life.

Nihongo’s seal perk allows you to recharge your Heat by 15 per second when you are at low health, which should ensure you have enough juice to get that last Heat action that you need to turn the tide in your favor. Spears boast quite an impressive amount of damage, so try this one out, and don’t underestimate how important having access to a Heat move can be.

5Giant Chikuwa

When you see Giant Chikuwa, you’re sure to notice its somewhat paltry 713 base Attack stat, which sets off some alarms. However, this rod isn’t just about beating your enemies to a pulp but rather focuses on the rewards you’ll receive after your battles.

Despite the underwhelming Attack number, you shouldn’t notice too much of a drop-off in the quality of your damage unless you’re relying solely on your Special Weapons. That being said, once you’re able to use this weapon to win a battle, you’ll gain a six percent chance that your fallen foes actually drop an item. For those of you whoare farming after beating the gameand over-leveled anyway, this is the perfect addition to your build.

4White Dragon

If you’re a traditionalist looking for a Special Weapon that you can use to beat your enemies with raw strength, look no further than White Dragon. Though its base Attack stat doesn’t crack the four digits, it does have quite a respectable 966 Attack to its name.

The White Dragon’s perk is deceptively strong, increasing the effects of Corporal Traits on your Trooper Cards by 15 percent. This significant boost will make your Trooper Cards even more important, and if you can grab some Legendary cards, this can create quite a powerful combination for you.

3Bonbori Lantern

Not eventhe best armor pieces in Like A Dragon: Ishincan soften the blow from this massive weapon. The Bonbori Lantern is all about inflicting as much damage across the spectrum as possible. This giant lamp is imbued with the Poison and Wind elements, granting it an extra dimension of effectiveness.

Due to the additional effects of its seals, you will not only be doing a base of 1,400 damage per hit with this gigantic weapon, but you’ll also be inflicting elemental pain on your opponent. Heat moves are already a powerful asset to utilize, but this weapon makes them even more potent.

2Demon Smasher

As the name may suggest, the Demon Smasher is here to do incredible amounts of damage with some equally over-the-top seal effects to top it off. With an incredible 1,444 Attack and equally ferocious appearance to intimidate any foe, the Demon Smasher might just be your go-to mace.

If the sheer damage doesn’t win you over, then maybe having two perks – each with a 14 percent chance to break your opponent’s guard – might sway your opinion. The ability to get through a foe’s guard ability is powerful, allowing you to continue inflicting damage where your opponent might have otherwise stopped the bleeding. Snowballing your hits into long combinations is an exceptional ability for any Special Weapon.

1Nenekiri-Maru

The Nenekiri-maru brings some unprecedented raw numbers to the table and blows away all other contenders for the best Special Weapon in Ishin crown. This odachi possesses a frighteningly high 1,622 Attack to set the bar for all other weapons to aspire to.

With this incredible Attack stat, you’ll get maximum value out of Nenekiri-maru’s two perks, each restoring your health equal to eight percent of the damage you deal to your enemy. This dominant combination of perennial damage and essential health restoration is unrivaled, making Nenekiri-maru the runaway best Special Weapon you can craft in Like A Dragon: Ishin.
