Sometimes, the mode can feature simple gun fights to keep things exciting, but some games opt for a bit more excitement by throwing in vehicles, and even lightsabers.

There are so many unique strategies players can implement in a Capture The Flag match that each one will likely end up playing out differently. It’s not surprising that Team Fortress 2 can make such a simple mode so dynamic without any major twists considering the game is so beloved.

9Halo Infinite

TheHalo series is no stranger to Capture The Flag modes. It is another series that has tried to throw in a few unique twists on the classic mode to mixed results over the years. The most recent effort,Halo Infinite, features a fun mode for fans of the match.

Unlike some other entries in the series, the flag bearer is a lot weaker in this mode. There is some unique strategy that can be implemented in order to see the most success, but for the most part, the mode is exactly what you’d expect. It’s familiar, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t a ton of fun.

5Splatoon 3

The Splatoon series has delved into its own unique takes on the Capture The Flag format across its games. One of the best takes on the mode isSplatoon 3’sAnarchy Battles, specifically Tower Control and Rainmaker.

Tower Control sees you trying to take control of a tower and deliver it into the enemy area for the win, while Rainmaker sees you doing something similar with a weapon. Both modes are chaotic and unique takes on the mode while still scratching that Capture The Flag itch.

4Titanfall 2

Whether you tried it out or not,Titanfall 2might have one of the best Capture The Flag Modes. The reason for this comes down to the unique aspect of the game: the Titans. Basically, to carry the flag, you can’t be in a titan.

This forces players to rely on one another in order to quickly traverse the field without getting dominated by their opponents. There’s a lot to love about the mode, so it’s sad that more people didn’t end up giving it a chance.

2Fat Princess

Whether you love it or hate it, Fat Princess can be a seriously fun time. The game also features a relatively unique Capture The Flag mode that features the fat princess herself. The twist here is that she is more or less the flag to capture.

You can make things tough for your opponents by getting the princess as fat as possible, but that’s not where the strategy for the mode stops. Since the game is so chaotic, you and your team still have to work together in order to come out on top.
